The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, met in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court at Vero Beach, in the County of Indian River on this the 5th day of July, 1933, at 10:00 o'clock A.H. and the following County Commissioners were present: J. J.P. Hamilton, Chairman; J.D.Yongue; 1h.E.Peazeil,3r. ; John H. Knight .and Edwin A. Helseth. Also present were Hiles Warren, Clerk and Wm. Prick, Sheriff. The Board of County Commissioners resolved itself into a Board of Equalizers of taxes and continued to sit for the purpose of hearing complaints and receiving testi- mony as to the value of any. property, real, personal or mixed, as fixed by the County Tax Assessor of taxes for assessment for the taxes of the year 1933. The owners and agents of property, who appeared for that purpose, were allowed to make full and complete statements as to the valuation of the property owned or represented by them and the Tax Assessor and the members of the Board having fully discussed the statements and facts as. presented decided to make no change in the valuation upon any of the property for the year 1933. The Board of County Commissioners then adjourned to meet at it's neat regular meeting to be held in August, unless sooner convened by order of the Chairman. q AT ST: Chairman Clerk. • li u - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -b- BESD, _ AUGUST 2nd 1933. The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court•House in hero Beach, at 10:00 o•olook A.H.Hednesday, August 2nd 1933, with the following members of the Board present; J.J,P.Hamiltonj Chdirimm; Wm« E, Feazells J. D. Yougue; Jobn H. Knight and Edwin A Helseth. Also present were Miles Warren, Clerk and William Frek, Sheriff. The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. Walter Duncan appeared before the Board regarding public road as reported by view - era on December 6th 1938, The Road Superintendent wan inetrueted to survey this road and make estimate of cost of opening up'this road„ It wan ordered lira Sallie Roberson, winter Beach, be placed on the pauper list to receive the sum of $6.04 per month. It was ordered Mrs John Yates, Fellsmere, be placed on the mother's pension list to receive the sura of $7.00 per month instead of $5.00 as heretofore paid. 0n motion made, s000nded'and carried; it was ordered that the Chaitman and Comtr., Helseth attend a meeting}of the State Road Department in Halal on Monday, Augnat 7th, 1933 and the am of $25.00 is appropriated to defray their expenses. Geo T. Badger appeared before the Board and requested assistance in cutting out a road on the peninsular from Porth County line to the Sebastian Inlet South Settles. It was agreed that Chairmen Hamilton and Commissioner Yongue will go with Hr. Badger to Helbourub and get permission and authority from County Commissioner of Brevard County to do this work. It was ordered that all Bridge Tenders be given 15 days vacation with pay. Road Superintendent to get competent and suitable persons to releive the Bridge tenders while away•
