Dear Emergency Plan Recipient:
I am pleased to provide you with the 2019 Indian River County Emergency Plan for
Hazardous Materials. The Florida Division of Emergency Management determined that our
updated plan meets all compliance criteria and the plan is on the agenda to be formally adopted
by Resolution of the Indian River County Board of County Commissioners on December 18,
2018. This CD will supersede any you have received previously. Due to the sensitive
nature of this material, please properly discard any old CDs by running through a
shredder or breaking in half.
Due to the voluminous size of this document, and as a cost-cutting initiative, we are
distributing it via Compact Disk (CD). If you wish to print the entire document so you have a
hard copy, it will require a three-inch binder along with 5 divider tabs to accommodate each of
the sections.
All documents on this CD are PDF (Portable Document Format) files, which is a widely used
format to present information with a fixed layout similar to a paper publication. Adobe
Acrobat Reader is the application necessary to view and print PDF files. If you already have
the Reader installed on your computer, as most computers today do, no action is required. The
files will open automatically when you double-click on each of the file's folders.
If you do not have a Reader, go to the following link to download Adobe Reader to view and
print PDF files: h!V:Hget.adobe.com/reader/. Simply follow the prompts to install the
software. Proceed with opening the file folders as usual.
Appendix B, which is the Hazard Analysis portion of the plan, contains bookmarks so you can
easily find a specific facility. To open the .pdf bookmark feature, click on the bookmark icon
that looks like the following:
If you have any questions, please on't hesitate to contact me.
