INDIAN RIVER COUNTY EMERGENCY ORDER 2019-02
WHEREAS, on August 28, 2019, Governor Ron DeSantis, Governor of the State of Florida,
issued Executive Order Number 19-189, declaring that a state of emergency exists in all or a portion of
the State of Florida (including Indian River County) by reason of Hurricane Dorian; and
WHEREAS, on August 29, 2019,.Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order Number
2019-190, amending Executive Order 2019-189; and
WHEREAS, on August 30, 2019, I, in my official capacity as County Administrator and
Indian River County Emergency Services Director, and acting pursuant to section 101.10(1) of the
Code of Indian River, and Resolution 2019-55 of the Board of County Commissioners, declared that a
local state of emergency exists in all of Indian River County, Florida, by reason of Hurricane Dorian;
and
WHEREAS, per the authority granted to me in my capacity as County Administrator and
Indian River County Emergency Services District Director, 1 issued Emergency Order 2019-01,
declaring a mandatory evacuation of the barrier island, mobile/manufactured home parks, low lying
areas, areas east of U.S. 1, and substandard housing;
NOW, THEREFORE, this Emergency Order is issued revoking the mandatory evacuation of
the barrier island, mobile/manufactured home parks, low lying areas, areas east of U.S. 1, and
substandard housing.
THIS EMERGENCY ORDER shall be in effect for Indian River County starting at noon on
September 3, 2019.
