SMITH, CLERK OF CIRCUIT COURT INDIAN RIVER CO FL BK: 3237 PG: 1484, 9/13/2019 9:48 AM BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS PROCLAMATION DECLARING AND EXTENDING A LOCAL STATE OF EMERGENCY IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN CONNECTION WITH HURRICANE DORIAN WHEREAS, on August 28, 2019, Governor Ron DeSantis, in his capacity as Governor of the State of Florida, issued Executive Order Number 19-189, declaring that a state of emergency exists in all or portions of the State of Florida (including Indian River County) by reason of Hurricane Dorian; and WHEREAS, on August 29, 2019, Governor Ron DeSantis issued Executive Order Number 2019-190, amending Executive Order 2019-189; and WHEREAS, pursuant to section 101.10(1) of the Code of Indian River County, and Resolution 2019-55 of the Board of County Commissioners, the County Administrator/Indian River County Emergency Services District Director is authorized to declare a local state of emergency upon making a determination that a natural disaster has occurred or is imminent, requiring immediate and expeditious action, WHEREAS, in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River County Emergency Services District Director, I determined that, by reason of Hurricane Dorian, the threat of a natural disaster had occurred or was imminent, requiring immediate and expeditious action, and declared that a local state of emergency existed in all of Indian River County, Florida, effective as of 8:00 a.m., on the 30th day of August, 2019; and WHEREAS, in my capacity as County Administrator and Indian River County Emergency Services District Director, I determined that, by reason of Hurricane Dorian, that a local state of emergency existed and continued in all of Indian River County, Florida, effective as of 8:00 a.m., on the 6th day of September, 2019; and WHEREAS, as of September 13th, 2019, Indian River County is still suffering the effects of Hurricane Dorian, which continue to pose a threat to the public health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Indian River County; OFFICE OF THE COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR INDIAN RIVER COUNTY 1801 27th Street, Vero Beach, FL 32960-3388 Phone: 772-226-1408 - Fax: 772-978-1822 A TRUE COPY CERTIFICATION ON LAST PAGE J.R.
