WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT BOARD
Solid Waste Disposal District Budget (Non -Ad Valorem Special District)
The Board of County Commissioners reconvened as the Board of Commissioners of the Solid Waste
Disposal District (SWDD). The minutes will be approved at an upcoming Solid Waste Disposal District
meeting.

Chairman Solari opened the floor for public comments; there were none.
Chairman Solari brought up the extra $51 that appeared on the Trim Notices
and questioned whether any Commissioner had received any comments
from the public. The Commissioners and County Administrator Brown
replied that the Board received very few comments after the initial notice
and no comments were received from the public since the rate increase was
dismissed.
A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner
Flescher, to approve the Non -Ad Valorem assessment rates of $75.56 per
Residential Waste Generation Unit ($120.90/House), a 3.5% increase from
current year; $42.00 per Commercial Waste Generation Unit, a 3.7% increase
from current year; and Readiness to Use Fee of $24.69, a 0.4% increase from
current year, for the Solid Waste Disposal District(SWDD); and to approve
Resolution 2019-085, establishing the assessment rate to be levied upon all
real taxable property in Indian River County, Florida, for Fiscal Year 2019/2020
for the Solid Waste Disposal District. The motion carried by the following
vote:
Aye: 5 - Chairman Solari, Vice Chairman Adams, Commissioner Flescher,
Commissioner O'Bryan, and Commissioner Zorc

A motion was made by Commissioner O'Bryan, seconded by Commissioner
Flescher, to approve the Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD) budget of
$16,237,578, and approve Resolution 2019-086, amending the County Budget
Officer's estimates of receipts other than taxes and of balances to be brought
forward for Fiscal Year 2019-2020 and adopting a final budget for the Solid
Waste Disposal District. The motion carried by the following vote:
Aye: 5 - Chairman Solari, Vice Chairman Adams, Commissioner Flescher,
Commissioner O'Bryan, and Commissioner Zorc
The Board of Commissioners adjourned the Solid Waste Disposal District
meeting and reconvened as the Board of County Commissioners of the Final
Budget meeting.
