WHEREAS, the Board of County Commispioners of Indian
River County, Florida, In intorested in the ostablial-viont of safe
and direct traffic routes through Indian River County, Florida;
and,
WHEREAS, a serious traffic problem exists In the City
of Vero Beach, Florida, with respect to the heavy movement of
heavily loaded trucks on State Road 60 through UA City of Vero
Beach and connecting with Florida State Road No. 5 in said City;
now, therefore,
BE IT RNSOLVED by the Board or county Cott lostoners of
Indian River County, Florida, that this Board dorm herewith res-
pectfully request the State Road Department of ?Iorlda to tmme-
diately survey, ontobltah and designate a truck rout* or by-p&so
oonnectlr�4, State Road So. 5 to State Road no. 60 along the North
boundary line of the mains canal of the Indian River Farms Drainage
District. In recovxnandIng this route to the State flood Department
tho County Comalastonera point out the fact that in the opinion of
said board, the right of way required for such a route along this
nupgosted line could be obtained, that said route pasnas through
an undeveloped section of said City and that there would be only
one intersection on said entire rout* thereby provldlr�g a safe
and direct matno for flow or truck traffic from State Road 60 to
State Road No. 5.
BE IT FURTHM RESOLYM that a certified cosy of this
Resolution be furnished to the Honorable Alfred M. McKothan,
Chairman, State Road Department, and to the Honorable Merrill P.
Barber, Member, State Road Department from. this District, with
the request that they Immediately Institute survey of this pro-
posed route.
