HomeMy WebLinkAbout1957-018• r" RESOLUTION WHEREAS, this Board has heretofore pursuant to law established regulations pertaining to the platting and sub -dividing of lands In Indian River County, Florida, NOW, THEREFORE: I BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that in addition to its regulations heretofore established, the following regulations are herewith established and added to those presently 1 existing which shall be in each instance complied with before approval by this Board of any plat of lands in Indian River County, Florida, to -wit: 1. All swale ditches on both sides of all roadways shall be seeded, spriged or sodded with an approved type grass from the area within one foot of the roadway constructed for travelway outward to the top of the swale ditch on the outside, all to be done, completed and finished after completion of the finished grading. 2. Each plat shall dedicate one lot or one acre for each 100 acres contained in the plat whichever shall be greater for a public park. The word "park" shall be inserted on the plat designating the lot or area for a public park and the dedication shall also contain the word "park ". 3. All driveways leading from the travelway portion of any roadway hall be paved or surfaced, conforming to the drainage swale profile or rainage pipe of sufficient size which shall be placed underneath each drive - 'ay in the drainage swale to permit proper drainage. The mbtin>um size of rainage pipe in a roadway swale shall be 8 inches. 4. All streets and roadways shall be numbered on the plat in accord - Ice with the County's planned numbering system. At each roadway or street tersection there shall he placed one steel street identification sign naming id designating both intersecting streets. Each sign shall be G inches by 24 cher with 4 Inch embossed lettering and border of baked enamel finish mounted MITCHELL, SMITH & MITCHELL, ATTORNEYS AT LAW, VERO BEACH, FLORIDA • on a painted steel channel post with double twisted bar bracket. Said street 1 intersection sign must have a white background and black lettering and border with the lettering and border reflectorized. • 5. All plats shall be first submitted in duplicate for tentative approval and plats submitted for tentative approval shall be drawn on a drawing 24 inches by 30 inches. When tentative approval is given it shall be so endorsed on both copies and the County shall retain one copy and the proposed subdivider shall j retain one copy. 6• In every instance In which the property being platted borders on the Indian River or the Sebastian River or upon any finger, bay or channel there- from, then the elevation of the land as it exists or the elevation of the land as I it shall exist in its finished condition shall be shown on the tentative plat. All elevations shall be from United States Coast and Geodetic Datum, mean sea level of the waters opposite the lands proposed to be platted. Prior to final li i approval of any plat if any part of said lands borders upon the narrows of the Indian River and is below an elevation of 5 feet, then the land shall be filled to an elevation of 5 feet. On such lands other than those bordering upon the narrows of the Indian River, the same shall be filled to a minimum elevation (! of 4 1/2 feet. If a finger type of development is proposed, then the open river end of each finger shall be bulkheaded to a minimum elevation of 5 feet with a sloping or stepdown if desired of the bulkhead from the open river end inland to a minimum elevation of 3 1/2 feet at the inland end. Where the bulkhead is lI less than 5 feet in elevation, then the ground elevation shall slope upward on a i short slope on an even grade to an elevation of S feet. In such finger type i development, road rights of ways shall be of a minimum width of 60 feet and I channels or canals separating each finger shall be of a minimum width of 80 (i j feet. II 7, 1f deep ditches are located in or alongside roadways, they shall be of a sufficient distance from the travelway portion of the road in order to main- tain a natural and gradual side slope and an adequate width for shoulders for -2- MITCHELL.
