HomeMy WebLinkAbout1958-001RESOLUTION #d zM II WI-IE:REAS, Indian River County, acting by and thrwigh Its Board of County Coin tilt ssloners, has heretofore set aside,designated and established certain area in the County for the purpose of dumping and disposing of refuge; and WHEREAS, it is considered necessary, in order to provide for the orderly and sanitary operation of these County dumps,to adopt rules and regulations pertaining thereto; NOW, THEREFORE; BE IT RESOLVED by the hoard of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that the following rules and regulations shall be applicable to each of the areas heretofore set aside and established for the dumping of refuge within Indian River County, Florida, as follows, to -wit: 1. Al l roadways leading from the nearest public road and pro- viding for travel in, around and through the dumps are herewith designated as public roads and the dumpin;; of any materials on the same is strictly prohibited. 2.. The particular designated spot for the dumping of refuge shall be from time to time designated and established by the County Engineer and signs erected designating the same and during such time no dumping shall be done in any place except these designated areas, 3. Any dead animals placed in the dumping area shall be buried and covered over by the individual disposing of the same. 4. No contractor engaged in the business of and contracting for the clearing of land shall dump any stumps of trees, under- brush or debri in any of the dumping areas of the County unless said contractor shall either bury the same or destroy the same by supervised burning as shall be directed by the County Engineer, Any stumps, trees or underbrush deposited in the County dump by any other person shall be immediately saturated with an inflammable material and set fire by the individual placing the same therein. 5. Any person violating the terms of these dumping regulations shall be prosecuted as provided by law and in addition, they shall be denied the use of said area for dumping for a period of time to be fixed by the County Engineer not to exceed 90 days. 6. In order to facilitate the enforcement of these regulations and to encourage the general public in assisting the County in enforcing the same, the County does herewith offer a reward of $5.00 to any person furnishing information to the County leading to the arrest or prosecution of any person for the violation of these regulations. Dr. Hiller also stated they would like to close the Ilealtlt Building for the Christmas holidays on Tuesday, Vednesday and Thursday, Dec. 24th, 25th and 26th, lFpon Motion made by Commissioner Hobert Craves, seconded by Commissioner F!cCullers And carried the Board agreed to the closing of the !Icalth Center on Dec. 24, 25, b 26th. Mr. Joe Cell of Scott F:otors appeared before the Board and asL'ed permission to rent 100 feet of the north end of the Block on which the liealth Center rullding is located. he �\ Board asked what rent he would be willing to pay and he stated he didn't krow at this ILL–c- The Board asked that he make up his mind and let them know at the next regular meetln, of the Board on January 7th.
