RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, the Board of County Cummissioners of Indian River
County, Florida, has given consideration for many months to the necessity of
this Board of erecting a County building for the purpose of providing facilities
for the housing of the aged, infirm and those requiring the public welfare
and assistance of this County as well as a house of detention wherein all the
delinquent children of the County may be housed and detained, NOW, THERE-
FORE;
BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of
Indian River County, Florida, that this Board does herewith deem it
necessary to erect a County building to serve the purposes above enumerated;
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that public notice shall be pub-
lished in the Vero Beach Press journal, a newspaper of general circulation
published in said County that at the next regular meeting of this Board after
the publication of the said Notice, such question or questions shall be acted
upon by this Board and that if at said meeting a majority of this Board shall
determine that it is necessary to erect said building, that this Board may
then levy a building tax not exceeding five (5) mills per annum for not more than
thirty (30) consecutive years in lieu of all other County building tax and that
all persons wishing to be heard will be heard at the next regular meeting of
this Board to be held on September 2, 1958 at 9 o'clock A. K in the offices
of said Board in the Indian River County Courthouse, Vero Beach, Florida.
