HomeMy WebLinkAbout1960-012RES 0LU_T 1 0 N WHEREAS, the bridge over the Indian River on State Road Slid in Indian River County, Florida, is in bad condition and in need of immediate repair as evidenced by the fact that during the past week a section of said bridge collasped, and WHEREAS, said bridge is scheduled for replacement by a new structure as soon as funds become available, which the County hopes and expects will be in the near future, Now, therefore; BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that this Board does herewith respectfully request the State Road Department of Florida to immediately make an inspection of this bridge to determine the repairs necessary in order that said bridge may safely carry the increased and heavy traffic customarily thereon during the winter season, to permit safe crossing at least for a period of time of one year, realizing that extensive repairing and reconstruction is not desirable in view of the proposed new construction but that said bridge must be kept in safe condition for its anticipated traffic particularly in view of the fact that beginning in thirty to sixty days heavy traffic transporting citrus fruits ordinarily use that bridge from that time until approximately May 1st.
