HomeMy WebLinkAbout1964-008PES29—AWT LMN WHEREAS, Mrs. Alice Helleso retired on the thirteenth day of October, nineteen hundred and sixty-four as Supervisor of Nurses of the Indian River County Public Health Department, after having served continuously in various phases of welfare and public health activities for more than twenty-eight years; and WHEREAS, the was instrumental in the establishment of various services in Indian River County, such as the first loan closet, the first register of services to physicians,aalshe was also interested in the first school for retarded children, the county rehabilitation center and the adoption of physical therapy, the teaching of home economics in the county public schools and the observation of "health week•; and WHEREAS, during her years of service, she constantly aided and co-operated with the local Medical Association, the Board of Public Instruction, the Mental Health Workshop, the Tuberculosis and Health Association, the Women's club, the United Church Women, the Business and Professional Women's Club, the Junior Women's Club, the Pilot Club, the Exchange Club, the Kiwanis Club, the Lions Club, the Rotary Club, the American Legion, the American Red Cross and many other organizations in the furtherance of public health; Now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Indian River Board Of County Commissioners, assembled in regular session, does hereby unanimously commend Mrs. Helleso on her countless valuable services to the community, and on behalf of the inhabitants of this county, extends to her their expression of sincere appreciation for her many accomplishments in the field of public health; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that this Resolution be incorporated in the minutes of said Board and that a copy be sent to Mrs. Helleso, the Florida State Board of Health, and the Indian River county Health Department.
