HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-132ARESOLUTION NO. 89 - 132A A RESOLU'T'ION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS' OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA AUTHORIZING THE APPLICATION FOR FUNDING COUNTY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICES (EMS) AWARDS TO BE SUBMITTED TO THE O STATE OF FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND REHAB- ILITATIVE SERVICES. WHEREAS, The Florida Department of Health and Rehabilitative Services has announced that applications for funding County Emer- gency Medical Services (EMS) Awards are now being accepted and fund allocations have been identified for Indian River county; and WHEREAS, an application for funding has been prepared and approved by the County EMS agencies; and WHEREAS, Funds in the amount of $34,144.79 have been allo- cated to Indian River County. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COM- MISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Chairman is authorized to sign and execute the Application for funding certi- fying that monies from the County EMS Award will improve and expand the County's pre -hospital EMS system and that the funds will not be used to supplant existing county EMs budget allo- cations. The foregoing Resolution was offered by Commissioner Bird who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Eggert and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: Chairman Gary C. Wheeler Aye Vice Chairman Carolyn K. Eggert Aye Commissioner Don C. Scurlock, Jr. Absent Commissioner Margaret C. Bowman Aye Commissioner Richard N. Bird Aye The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted this 17th day of October , 1989. C� Rp6rovc4 Dote Admin.�v U-9' Leg Dept Risk Mgf. • 10/23/89(SPB02)LECAL(SPB/bk) 1.1 4 COUNTY DEED THIS DEED, made this 17th day of October, 1989, by INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, a political subdivision of the State of Florida, party of the first part (hereinafter COUNTY), and THE CHILDREN'S HOME SOCIETY OF FLORIDA, a not-for-profit corporation organized and existing under the laws of the State of Florida, party of the second part (hereinafter HOME), WITNESSETH that the said party of the first part, for and In consideration of the sum of TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS ($25,000.00) to it in hand paid by the party of the second part, receipt whereof Is hereby acknowledged, has granted, bargained and sold to the party of the second part, Its heirs and assigns forever, the following described land lying and being In Indian River County, Floriclat LEGAL DESCRIPTION ATTACHED HERETO AND INCORPORATED HEREIN AS "EXHIBIT All. SUCH CONVEYANCE BEING CONDITIONED UPON THE REQUIREMENT that the HOME shall, within one (1 ) year from the date of this deed, put Into, operation upon the real property conveyed by this deed thereafter and maintain In operation, a shelter and counseling service for runaway children, which operation shall be recognized as promoting a public purpose in Indian River County, if said operation has not commenced within one (1) year or if said operation, once commenced, shall cease for a period longer than three (3) months the COUNTY shall adopt a resolution so stating the FAILURE OF THE CONDITION, and upon recording of the resolution, THE TITLE, USE, AND INTEREST IN THE PROPERTY SHALL REVERT TO COUNTY, with all improvements becoming the property of COUNTY, or, at the COUNTY's option, the HOME may be required to remove all of the Improvements and return the property to the COUNTY in Its present condition, and the effect of this deed shall be voided, and the COUNTY will return the sum of TWENTY-FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS (#25,000.00) to the HOME within ten (10) days thereafter.
