HomeMy WebLinkAbout1989-057' First Resolution . -`'`� 5/7/80(UT)L)Royo2(MWt/Vh) - ' RESOLUTION No. 09- S7 A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY PROVIDING SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS FOR INSTALLATION OF WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County has determined that the Improvements herein described and, to defray the cost thereof and in connection therewith, the spec iu| assessments against the proper t|es hereinafter described, all of which relate to Project No. US 88 -08 -CCS' are necessary to promote the public welfare of the county, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, as follows: |. The County does hereby determine that u sewer collection system uhu|| be installed along the west side of Sixth Avenue from Eighth Street to U.S. 01' designated on the assessment plot with respect to the special assessments, and the coat thereof and in connection therewith shall be specially assessed in accordance with the provisions of §1/-42 through §11-47 of the Code of Laws and Ordinances of Indian River County. 2. The tota| estimated cost of the above-described improvements is shown to be $124,830 (or $0^095289676 per square foot) to be nv|d by the property specially benefited. 3. A special assessment in the amount or $0,095289676 per square foot shall be assessed against each of the properties designated on the assessment plat. 4. The opoc|m| assessments shall he due and payable and may be paid in fv|| within §n days after /he date of the resolution of the Board with respect to credits against the special assessments after completion of the improvements (the "Credit Date") without interest. If not paid in full RESOLUTION NO. 89`57 the special assessments may be paid in five equal yearly installments of principal plus interest. if not paid when due, there shall be added a penalty of 11% of the principal not paid when due. The unpaid balance of the special assessments shall bear Interest at a rate of 12% from the Credit Date until paid. 5. There is presently on file with the Department of Utility Services a plat showing the area to be assessed, plans and specifications, and an estimate of the cast of the proposed Improvements. All of these are open to inspection by the public at the Department of Utility Services. 6. An assessment roil with respect to the special assessments shall promptly be prepared In connection with the special assessments. 7. Upon the adoption of this resolution, the Indian River County Utilities Services Department shall cause this resolution to be published at least one time In the Vero Beach Press Journal before the public hearing required by 411-46. The resolution was moved for adoption by Cnmmissioner Scurlock --. and the motion was seconded by Commissioner Hoxm;111 anti, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: Chairman Carry C. wheeler Aye Vico-Chairman Carolyn K.
