HomeMy WebLinkAbout1967-027RES2LAUTi2NNCL.67- 27 WIJPREAS, it has long been the knowledge of this Board that the Sebastian Inlet, located at the North Itnitts of tilts county, is a popular place for boating and fishing but that said inlet is unusually dangerous for boating; and, wFIERFAS, the Inlet is not channelled, marked or maintained as a part of the navigation system by the (4;oant Guard and all Of tllcsc factors have caused great loss of property in capsized and swamped bouts and create 11 emergencies for the rescue of persone is is amply demonstrated by the fact that within the past two months, there have been seven boats capsized and swamped In the Sebastian Inlet to the extent that the public safety Is vitally affected and it secins necessary to provide a means of rescue of persons and property that are endangered in said Inlet; Now, therefore, BF IT RrSOI,VY?,D by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian It River County, Florida, that tilts Board does herewith express Its wh olehearted support to the Sheriff of India" River County In his efforts to provide, through contractural aliement, facilities for tit(- re=scue of persons and .)roPf-rt)' III the Sebastian Inlet; and, Br IT FURWER R M1,Vrr; that a cortifted copy Of tilts Resolution , be furnished to the Sheriff of Indian River County.
