HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-010RESOLUTION NO. 71-10 ® A RESO1.'JTION EIS DOPSING THE CONCEPT 01' FEDU'AL RLVENUE SHARING AND ENCOURAGING EARLY CONGRESSIOl\lAL ACTION ON ENACT - s MENT OF A FEDERAL PROGRAM WHEREAS, it is becoming increasingly difficult for City, County, and State Government to provide necessary services with revenues currently available, and WHEREAS, the primary source of revenue for governmental purposes is the Federal Income Tax levied and collected by the Federal Government, and WHEREAS, the current administration at the Federal Government level has proposed a Federal Revenue Sharing Program to assist local governments in the provision of services; NOW, THEREFORE,' BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River ___. County, Florida, in regular session assembled this 24th day of Fphrlarg , 1971, that it does hereby strongly endorse the principle of Federal Revenue Sharing and encourages the Ninoty-Second Congress to enact legislation estab- lishing such a prograrn at the earliest opportunity. The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner —Alma Lee Loy � who moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Ed Massey , and upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: Richard BoRosian Yea Alma Lee Loy - Yea Jack Dritenbas - Yea Lddyyard Massed ' Yea D. B.
