HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-016RESOLUTION NO. 71-16 PRIMARY ROADS I WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation is now preparing its budget for construction of the primary road system in the State for the fiscal year 1972-1973; and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida,is vitally interested in the improvement of the primary road system in Indian River County, Florida] Now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that this Board does herewith respectfully request the Florida Department of Transportation to include in its budget or primary roads for the fiscal year 1972-1973 the following 'projects in Indian River County: 1. Completion of feasibility study now being made for the Florida Department of Transportation by consultants to determine the need and location of a second bridge across the Indian River in the vicinity of the City of Vero Beach, Florida. 2. Reschedule $200,000 now budgeted for 1973-1974 to be moved ahead to 1972-1973 in order to expedite the design phase of the subject second bridge at the earliest possible date. 3. Widen and reconstruct SR 605 (Old Dixie Highway)'from the South County Line to SR 60 (20th Street). 4. Widen and reconstruct AIA Highway to a four lane highway with left turn holding lanes through the City of Vero Beach. 5. Widen and reconstruct AIA Highway from the South County Line to the City of Vero Beach. 6. Widen and reconstruct SR 60 to a four lane highway from Indian River Boulevard to the Atlantic Ocean. I 7. Widen and reconstruct SR 507 (North Road) from the North s`. City Limits of Fellsmere to the North County Line.
