RESOLUTION 71-17
WHEREAS, FRED J. PRESTIN has resigned as the Indian River
County Civil Defense Director, and
WHEREAS, a vacancy now exists in that position, and
WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River
County has received applications for appointment to the position of Civil
Defense Director, and
WHEREAS, the Board has thoroughly studied the applications,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River County that JAY A. SMITH, 630 Eugenia
Road, Vero Beach, Florida, is hereby appointed Indian River County Civil
Defense Director. The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River
County has found that JAY A. SMITH meets all of the minimum qualifications
for the position of local Civil Defense Director in compliance with the Statement
of Policy approved by the State Cabinet on January 31, 1967. A copy of this
Resolution shall be forwarded to the Department of Civil Defense of the
State of Florida
