HomeMy WebLinkAbout1971-05440 71 RESOLUTION NO. 71-54 WHEREAS, the Vero Beach - Indian River County Building and Zoning Director has recommended certain changes in the Indian River County Building Code Resolution, and WHEREAS, the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River are in agreement with said recommendations, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County that the Indian River County Building Code Regulation is hereby amended so as to require the following provisions: 1. All elevators installed in any structure in Indian River County shall be a minimum 3000# elevator, having a carriage size of five feet six inches by seven feet, and a minimum door size of three feet six inches wide. 2. Section 902. 3, paragraph 1 of the Southern Standard Building Code is hereby amended for use in Indian River County as follows: Buildings exceeding one story and 50 feet in height is changed to buildings exceeding three stories or more. The purpose of this change is to require installation of fire fighting equipment on each floor within reach of the most remote area of the building in accordance with N. F. P. A. (14 - 1968 Edition).
