HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/3/1933TUESDAY, OCTOBER 3rd 1933._ Vie Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at (:ourt House in Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock A.M. Tuesday, October 3rd 1933, with the following members of the Board present: J.J.P.liamilton, Chairman; J. D. YYongue; H. E. Mudge; John X. might and Edwin A. helseth. Villiam Prick, Sheriff. ,Llso present were Miles Warrens Clerk and The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. A. E. Conway appeared before the Board and requested permission to repair a dock at the East end of the Vero Bridge. The Board advised him that whatever was agreeable with the City will be satisfactory with this Board. Commissioner Mudge moved that the woad Superintendent make weekly report to the Clea showing daily report of work done and material used and etc. Such motion being seconded by Commissioner Knight was unanimously adopted. Commissioner Yongue moved that road funds be expended in each Commissioners Dist. according to amount of taxes paid in each of said Districts. Such motion was lost for want of a second, it being the opinion of the Board that same should be taken under advisement and consideration. The Notary Public bond of Ralph Sedgwick in the sum of X500.00 with American Surety vompany, a corporation, as surety was approved. F. Earl DeLoe and W. it. Earns, architects, each appeared before the Board and sub- mitted their plans 00and specifications for proposed Court House. Each also submitted their proposals as to charge for superintending the construction of same. After careful] considering every matter pertaining to this subject, and after full and complete dis- cussion by the Board, it was moved, seconded and carried that W. it. tarns be employed on a basis of §2,320.00 in the event the loan and grant is seeuted from the Federal Government --this figure to be on a basis of X589000.00 and no more. Copy of said agr being duly executed and filed with this Board. The ;Mate Engineer and Mr. Butler appeared before the Board and advised they had checked over the necessary repairs to be made to roads in this County on account of sto damage and advised the Board that the State goad Department will complete the repairs to these roads and also complete the repairs to the Vero Bridge. a letter was received from A* C. MacConnell, City Clerk of Vero Beach, advising that the City will offer Lots 1 to 9 in Block 359 original Town as a Court House site. it was ordered that Tom Herring, negro, Fellsmere, be placed on the pauper list to receive the sum of §3.00 per month. The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were and found correct, were approved, and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. The bills and accounts being on file in the office of Clerk Circuit Court. The warrants so issued from the respective funds being listed completely in the County Finance record as provided by law, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a part of these minutes as fully and completely as if the same were set out herein in detail. The County Depository filed its monthly report of receipts and disbursements of the various funds, which having been checked were found to be correct.
