The Board of County Commissioners reconvened as the Board of Commissioners
of the Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD). The minutes will be approved at an
upcoming Solid Waste Disposal District Meeting.

County Administrator Jason Brown announced the Solid Waste Disposal
District (SWDD) proposed budget, had an increase of $2,684,281 from the
current year budget. There was an increase for the assessment on the
residential Equivalent Residential Unit (ERU) of 8.8% and commercial
Waste Generation Unit (WGU) of 15.8%. The proposed single family ERU
charge is $147.49 per year, an increase of $11.87, the commercial WGU
charge is $55.19 per year, an increase of $7.55.
Administrator Brown indicated the SWDD was facing an estimated
$336,000 increased costs in contracts because of the Consumer Pricing
Index (CPI) inflator capped at 3%. He mentioned staff was currently
working on a rate study and would be bringing it back to the Board before
the next fiscal year as well as the recycling projects.
The Chairman opened the public hearing for comments; there were none.
The Chairman closed the public hearing.
The Board of Commissioners of the Solid Waste Disposal District adjourned the
meeting and reconvened as the Board of County Commissioners of the Budget
Workshop meeting, continuing with Miscellaneous Funds Budget.
