UT INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA
RESOLUTION NO. 76-89
WHEREAS, by Resolution 75-67 the Board of County Commissioners
of Indian River County pursuant to Florida Statute 125. 60-64 (1975)
established a thirteen member Charter Commission to study and make
recommendations to the citizens of Indian River County regarding
the most economical, efficient and effective form of home rule
government, and,
WHEREAS, pursuant to Indian River County Resolution 75-67 Dan K.
Richardson received appointment as one of the thirteen Charter
Commission members, and,
WHEREAS, Dan K. Richardson served as Chairman of the Charter
Commission with great distinction, and,
WHEREAS, the Charter Commission under the leadership of Dan K.
p Richardson conducted a comprehensive study of the operation of
county government and as Chnirrnan of the Coordinating Cnmmittee
analyzed in depth methods to improve and reorganize our local
government for the benefit of all citizens in Indian River County, and,
WHEREAS, after long hours of study, organization meetings with Sub- C
Committees, assimilation of material, preparation of t<ntative drafts,
debates, and public hearings the Commission completed the final
Charter Document, submitting it to the Board of County Commissioners C
for Indian River County on Septinnber 1, 1976, and,
WHERPMS, although the results of the Charter Referondum were
unsuccessful the citizens of Lydian River County owe :t great debt of
appreciation to Darr K. Richardson for his diligent efforts and service
to our community and county government.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County
Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida,. that the Board
extends its appreciation and honors Dan K. Richardson on behalf of the
citizens of Indian ]fiver County for his contribution sill diligent
effort as Chairman of the Charter Commission and Chairman of tho
Coordinating Committee.
