HomeMy WebLinkAbout1976-098014 INDIAN RIVEIF, COUNTY, F LONINUA RESOLUTION NO. 7698 WHEREAS, by Resolution 75 - 67 the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County pursuant- to Florida Statute 125.60-64 (1975) established a thirteen member Charter Commission to study and make recommendations to the citizens of Indian River County regarding the most economical, efficient and effective form of biome rule government, and, WHEREAS, pursuant to Indian'River County Resolution 75 - 67, John Tippin received appointment- as one of the thirteen Charter Commission members, and, WHEREAS, John Tippin as a Charter Commission member con- ducted a comprehensive study of the operation of County government and Ps Chairman of the Road: and Rr.i.dges Committee, analyzed in depth methods to improve and re- organize our local. government for the benefit or all citizens in Indian River County, and, WHEREAS, after long hours of study, organization meetings with Sub -Committees, assimilation of material, preparation of tentative drafts, debates, and public hearings, the Commission completed the final Charter. Documo nt, submitting it to the Board of County Commissioners for Indian River County on September. 1, 19.76, and, WHEREAS, although the results of the Charter Referendum were unsuccessful,the citizens of. Indian River County owe a great debt of appreciation to John Tippin for his diligent efforts and service to our community and County government. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County )cam Commissioners of.
