RESOLUTION NO. 7747
A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT
OF CO 1ERCE TO DESIGNATE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY AS A
REDEVELOPMENT AREA UNDER THE PUBLIC WORKS AND ECONOMIC
a. DEVELOPMENT ACT OF 1965.
WHEREAS, Indian River County, Florida qualified as a re-
develognent area under the Public Works and Economic Develognent
Act of 1965, as amended; and
WHEREAS, Indian River County recognizes the high un-
employment rate in Indian River County; and
WfHUTM, Indian River County recognizes a need to conduct
Public Works and other programs as provided for under the Public
Works and Economic Develognent Act of 1965, as amended; and
MUTTAS, the Board of County Commissioners has examined and {
duly considered such Act and the Board of County Commissioners considers
it to be in the public interest and to its benefit to file a request
for designation as a RedeveloFrnent Area under said Act, and to authorize
other action in connection therewith.
NOW Mi RE, BE IT RESOLVED BY T11E BOARD OF COUNTY COMMIS-
SIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER C(M-Y, FLORIDA, that the County requests that
it be designated a Redojelorment Area under the provisions of the
Public Works and Economic Development Act of 1965, as amended, and
hereby expresses intent to take action necessary to develop an ac-
ceptable OVERALL ECOW1IC DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM for Indian River County
and to implenent the same to the extent it is approved by the Sec-
retary of Commerce.
This Resolution adopted after motion, second and roll call
vote as follows:
