WHEREAS, the State of Florida's legislative majority and
the governor have eliminated mandatory statewide vehicle safety
inspections, and
WHEREAS, the Board of. County Commissioners of Indian River
County consider voluntary vehicle safety inspections a desirable
safety standard for the citizens of this area, and
WHEREAS, many vehicle owners desire to have at least a
voluntary annual inspection to assure themselves and others of
the safety of their vehicles,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, hereby commends
the efforts of WGYL Radio and Keller's Chevron Service Station
for offering safety inspections based on the old state standards
to the citizens of Indian River County on a voluntary basis.
