A RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY,
FLORIDA, APPROVING AN ADOPT -A -PARK
PROGRAM AND AUTHORIZING THE PARKS AND
RECREATION DIRECTOR TO ENTER INTO
AGREEMENTS FOR THE PROGRAM
WHEREAS, the Indian River County Parks and Recreation Division is interested in
creation of an Adopt -A -Park Program (Program) for various community profit and non-
profit organizations to volunteer to pick up litter in and around designated County Parks,
Conservation Lands, and Beaches; and
WHEREAS, in exchange for voluntary litter pick up, the County will install signage
bearing the name of the volunteer group at the park/conservation land/beach; and
WHEREAS, there are organizations interested in participating in the Program;
and
WHEREAS, the Board desires to encourage participation in the Program in order
to keep Parks, Conservation Lands, and Beaches free of litter, and to instill pride in our
County Parks and Beaches.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA:
1. The Board hereby approves the Adopt -A -Park program.
2. The Parks and Recreation Director is hereby authorized to enter into Agreements
on behalf of the Board with interested individuals and organizations for the Adopt -A -Park
program, said agreements to be approved in advance by the County Attorney's Office,
and which are substantially in compliance with the attached Agreement, Exhibit "A".
The foregoing Resolution was offered by Commissioner jos nh E. F1esche_r
and seconded by Commissioner Laura Mo s s and, upon being put to a vote,
the vote was as follows:
