INDIAN RIVER COUNTY EMERGENCY ORDER 2024-002
WHEREAS, on May 7, 2024, Upon the request of the Emergency Services Director, I, in my
official capacity as County Administrator, and acting pursuant to section 101.10(1) of the Code of
Indian River and Resolution 2024-016 of the Board of County Commissioners, declared that a local
state of emergency exists in all of Indian River County, Florida, by reason of wildfires; and
WHEREAS, over the past several days, all areas of the County have received significant
amounts of rainfall and the threat posed to the health, safety and welfare by wildfires to citizens and
property of Indian River County is greatly reduced; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the authority granted in me in my capacity as County Administrator, I
am authorized to enter emergency orders necessary to ensure the health, safety, and welfare of the
residents of Indian River County, including, without limitation, those orders authorized in chapter 252,
Florida Statutes, and chapter 101 of the Code of Indian River County, and other applicable law.
NOW, THEREFORE, this Emergency Order is issued rescinding and cancelling the
mandatory burn banfor all areas of Indian River County and cancelling Indian River County
Emergency Order 2024-001.
