PROCLAMATION DECLARING AN END TO LOCAL STATE OF
EMERGENCY IN INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, IN
CONNECTION WITH WILDFIRES
WHEREAS, pursuant to section 101.10(1) of the Code of Indian River County and
Resolution 2024-016 of the Board of County Commissioners, the County Administrator is
authorized to declare a local state of emergency upon making a determination that a natural
disaster has occurred or is imminent, requiring immediate and expeditious action; and
WHEREAS, on May 7, 2024, a local state of emergency was declared due to the threat
of wildfires; and
WHEREAS, over the past several days, all areas of the County have received significant
amounts of rainfall and the threat posed to the health, safety and welfare by wildfires to citizens
and property of Indian River County is greatly reduced.
NOW, THEREFORE, in my capacity as County Administrator, I hereby determine that
the ongoing danger of wildfires has been alleviated so that the threat of a natural disaster is no
longer imminent, therefore the local state of emergency no longer exists in all of Indian River
County, Florida, effective this 14th day of June, 2024.
