ATTACHMENT B SCOPE OF SERVICES INDIAN RIVER COUNTY SOLID WASTE DISPOSAL DISTRICT LANDFILL WOOD WASTE PROCESSING AREA SURVEY PROIECT UNDER'STANDINC Introduction The SWDD receives a significant amount of wand waste each month which requires processing and. disposal. The Indian River County Solid Waste Disposal District (SWDD) entered into an agreement with Consolidated Resource Recovery, Inc. (CRR) to process vegetative and wood waste in September,1997. CRR has notified Indian River County that by their estimates there are 28,000 tons of wood waste material which they have processed, but not recovered and sold, still remaining on the landfill property. Their estimate of the value of this material in $330,006. CDM, assisted by Carter & Associates, will perform a survey of the Vegetative Wood Waste Processing area. Task 1.0 — Survey of Vegetative Wood Waste Processing Area CDM will assist Indian River County SWDD in estimating the quantity of woad waste present by performing a survey of the Vegetative Wood Waste Processing area. The survey work will be performed by Carter & Associates to document the limits of material stockpiled on the landfill site at present. In addition, estimates of the actual amount of wood waste present will be developed based on the volume of material present. The evaluation effort will proceed through the following steps: ■ Perform a survey of the wood waste processing area to establish current inventory volumes. Carter & Associates will perform this work. ■ Estimate the densities of the various types of wood waste present on site. • Perform a model of the wood waste processing area to estimate tonnages. ■ Summarize the information in a letter Indian River County. CDM will also meet with Indian River County to discuss the findings. Two meetings have been budgeted for this proposal. SCHEDULE CDM will provide the survey to County Staff and prepare the letter Summarizing the findings within 34 days after notice to proceed. t t-QOAtii.3Al B-1 40 CDMCamp Dresser & McKee Inc.
