Intent of Exhibit
s in any archaeological exhibit the primary goal will be to help
the modern viewer visualize and experience a past culture, as
well as understand archaeological methods of research. To
achieve these goals, the exhibit will meld traditional research with
preserved artifacts and modern interpretations. It will be more
visual than textual, There will be a title panel and three durable

3'x4' cases that will
be hung in the
Seasons clubhouse,
taking up a wall
space area measur-
ing approximately
4'xl 1', If it Is desired,
the cases will be
removable and
able to travel to
local schools or
civic groups.
Materials and
finishes will be co-
ordinated with the
interior design of the
clubhouse so that it
enhances the
space it inhabits.
The Three Panels
The First Panel will explain WHY the
archaeology was done and lead
into a discussion of the Als indians
who lived in the area during the
1500s. The Blue Goose Midden was
occupied by predecessors of the Ais
between 800 All and 1500 AQ.

was carried out an the site and
present some of the artifacts
found there.
The Third Panel will provide an
INTERPRETATION of the findings at
the site. This will be accomplished
with a sliding acrylic panel that will
show the present day location of
post holes, over a drawing how we
believe the Ais village may have
looked.
