RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER
COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE CONSTRUCTION TO WIDEN AND
IMPROVE COUNTY ROAD 512 FROM WILLOW STREET TO INTERSTATE 95 TO
INCLUDE BIKE LANES AND SIDEWALKS ON BOTH SIDES OF ROADWAY FOR THE
2025 TRANSPORTATION REGIONAL INCENTIVE GRANT PROGRAM (TRIP)
APPLICATION FOR THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT).
WHEREAS, the roadway construction to widen and improve, with the addition of sidewalks,
and bike lanes along County Road 512 is in the IRC MPO 2045 Long Range Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) has added
this project to its draft List of Priority Projects (LOPP); and
WHEREAS, widening County Road 512 from Willow Street to Interstate 95 is a Tier 1
project in the 2045 Treasure Coast Regional Long Range Transportation Plan; and
WHEREAS, County Road 512 is the major east -west connection through the City of
Fellsmere and provides access to the City of Sebastian and 1-95 to the east; and
WHEREAS, the construction of the project is located within Indian River County right-of-
way of County Road 512; and
WHEREAS, the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, has requested Indian River
County submit to the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, this Resolution of Support
for the 2025 TRIP application.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF
INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to sign and
submit to the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, a Resolution of Support for the
County Road 512 widening project. The maintenance of said roadway, sidewalks and bike paths
will be maintained by the Indian River County once completed.
The foregoing resolution was offered by Commissioner Deryl Loar who
moved its adoption. The motion was seconded by CommissionerJoseph H. Earmanand, upon
being put to a vote, the vote was as follows:

The Chairman thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and adopted this 25th day of
February, 2025.
