The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida,.,met at,
the Court House in Vere Beach, at MOO o'clock A.M. Tuesday, December 5th 1933, with
e <
following members of the Beard presents J.J.P.Hamilton, Chairman; J. D. Yongue; R. B.
Nadgel John K. Snight and Edwin A Helseth. also present were Niles warren, Clerk and
wa. Frick, 'Sheriff.
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved.
w. H. tArne, architect, appeared before the Board respecting the application for a
loan for construction of a Court House. it *as ordered that he be given authority to
write Federal. Officials with reference to this loan.
Walter 'S Buokingham, appeared regarding the Fox family and their request to be
transferred to Foley, Florida, where the husband has secured work. It appearing to the
Board this family is destitute and a charge upon the community, it was ordered that $20.E
be appropriated to get them to Mey.
Notary Public bond of Helen S. Luly in the sum of $500.00 with Columbia Casualty 00,
a corporation, of New York as surety was approved.
The following action was taken with respect to paupers and those receiving aid from
the Nothers Pension fund of the., County.

The following resolution was offered by the Board and unanimously adopteds
MMe during the year 1933, it is apparent to this Board that the officials in
charge have always worked in harm rW with the aim and view to out down unnecessary cri-
minal costs to be charged against the County, and

County and the citizens,

be extended to the Hon William Brick, Sheriff, and the Hon. C. P. diamond, for their
f! successful efforts to, materially reduce criminal costs and the cost of feeding the pri-
soners during the year 1933 over previous years past.
The Clerk announced that the County Commissioners of 3t Lucie County advised him thi

j victs of this County, and it was ordered that at such time as convenient to .St Lucie

convicts of this County from time to time during the year 1934.
It was moved by Commissioner Knight and seconded by Commissioner Helseth that

common labor on the roads be set at 30.e per hour in accordance with the wage scale set b1
the Civil worts Administration of the Federal Goverment,. and that truck drivers be paid

35.0 per hour for their services. Upon being put to a vote -the qama was unanimously
adopted.

County -of Indian Rivers State of Florida, this 8th day of Beoe*ber 1933:
Commissioner N* N. Xudgo, introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption,

1"MEMS Chapter 1.6482 Acts of the Legislature of ; the State of .Florida for 1933
provide that the Adard of Bounty Commissioners of Iridian River County and the governing
Board or other constituted authorities of each taming district having power to levy taxes
upon property located within the County of Indian River State of Florida may provide by
resolution for the acceptance of bonds, interest coupons or other obligations of such
or taxing districts in part payment of or payment to full of taxes for the year
1933 and all subsequent years; therefore
BE IT MOO L BFI the Board of County dtommissioners of Indian River County, Florida*
that the Collector and the Clerk of the Circuit Court in and for Indian River Clounty,
Florida, are each herewith instructed and requested to accept payment of all interest and
sinking fund taxes of the general tax levy for the year 1933 and all prior years in bonds
or interest coupons issued by said .County and that each of them shall accept payment of
levies made 'by this Board for each and all the special taxing districts having the power
to levy taxes upon property within the County as to levies made for interest and sinking
fund purposes in bonds and interest coupons of said respective districts provided that t]
and interest coupons of said respective districts shall be accepted for the payment
of said interest and sinking fund levy in such district and that the obligations of one
district shall not be used to pay levies in any other district;
BR IT FURTHER RBSMVBDg that the said tax collector and said Clerk of the Circuit
rt are authorized and instructed to cancel and satisfy the unpaid tax certificates or
other evidence of tax liens in exchange for the transfer and delivery by the taxpayer of
an equivalent amount of bonds of Indian .River County or the district and districts in
which the property to be redeemed shall lied and to issue receipts as provided by law upon
,such exchange or payment being made; that equivalent amount of bonds so received in ex -
`change for the cancellation and eatisfactior: of such tax certificates or other evidence
of tax liens and such bonds and Interest coupons for which such exchange shall be made,
p shall be held by the said 'fax Collector or Circuit Clerk that shall receive such bonds
or interest coupons in lieu of and in substitution of the tart certificates or other
evidence of tax lien cancelled, surrendered or satisfied in exchange for such bondi or
interest couponal that said ` lea Collector and Clerk of the Circuit Court shall each of:
them within 'Thirty days after the receipt and no oeptande by either of them, of any bonds
or interest coupons as herein provided, forward the $este to the Btate Treasurer of
y Florida, who "shall keep and hold the same as an asset in trust for the use and benefit
of Indian River County and the districts levying taxes upon property therein for whose
taxes the same are accepted and exchanged said County and each of said Districts shall
have an interest in the. said obligations so held by the said custodian in the proportion
that the taxes of each of said districts and laid -County so redeemed, shall bear to,tho
whole taxes represented by the tax certificates or other tax liens so paid, cancelled and
satisfied; the Clerk bf the Circuit Curt and the. Tax Collector shall each of them keep
j a eomplets record of all such bonds and interest coupons received by them as herein pro-
vided and shall keep a complete record of all such obligations forwarded to the State
Treasurer as custodian and shall take the receipt of the said custodian for all bonds and
interest coupons forwarded to him as heroin provided.
The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution being seconded and the roll
being called thereupon, it was unanimously adopted. a
The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were ermine
and found correct, were approved and warrents ordered issued in settlement of some. Such
bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk. Circuit Court. The warrants

so issued from the respective funds being listed completely in the County Finance Record,
as provided.,by law, reference to such.record and the list so recorded being made a part
of these minutes as fully and completely as if the said warrants were set out herein in
detail.
The County depository filed its monthly report of receipts and disbursements, which
having :b, -checked was found to be correct.
There being no farther business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board then,
