HomeMy WebLinkAbout2026-017RESOLUTION 2026- 017 RESOLUTION OF THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, SUPPORTING THE CONSTRUCTION OF NEW SIDEWALK ALONG 28th COURT AND 49TH STREET FOR THE 2026 TRANSPORTATION ALTERNATIVES PROGRAM (TAP) APPLICATION FOR THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF TRANSPORTATION (FDOT) WHEREAS, the sidewalk construction along 28th Court from 47th Street to 49th Street and along 49th Street from 28th Court to Old Dixie Highway is an Indian River County priority project; and WHEREAS, the 28th Court/49th Street sidewalk project is identified as a high priority project in the Gifford Neighborhood Plan and the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Bicycle and Pedestrian Master Plan; and WHEREAS, the Indian River County Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) Board included this project on its List of Priority Projects (LOPP) the for the Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP); and WHEREAS, the Florida Department of Transportation has requested Indian River County submit this Resolution of Support for the 2026 TAP application to the Florida Department of Transportation; and WHEREAS, the improvements of the project are located within Indian River County right- of-way of 28th Court and 49th Street. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Chairman of the Board is hereby authorized to sign and submit to the State of Florida, Department of Transportation, a Resolution of Support for the 28th Court/49th Street sidewalk project. The maintenance of said sidewalk will be maintained by the Indian River County once completed. The foregoing Resolution was offered by Commissioner Joseph E. nescher and seconded by Commissioner Joseph H. EarfrEn , and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as follows: Chairman Deryl Loar AYE Vice Chairman Laura Moss AYE Commissioner Susan Adams AYE Commissioner Joseph H. Earman AYE Commissioner Joseph E. Flescher AYE The Chairman thereupon declared the Resolution duly passed and adopted this 24th day of March, 2026.
