A RESOLUTION OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA ADOPTING
THE INDIAN RIVER COUNTY AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT
(ADA) TRANSITION PLAN FOR PUBLIC RIGHTS-OF-WAY;
WHEREAS, Indian River County is committed to providing accessible transportation
facilities and ensuring that all residents, visitors, and members of the public can safely and
independently use County rights-of-way; and
WHEREAS, in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title II and
Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act, the ADA Transition Plan for Public Rights -of -Way serves
as a guiding document to identify, evaluate, and plan for the removal of accessibility barriers
within the County's pedestrian network; and
WHEREAS, participation in the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Local Agency
Program (LAP) Certification Program requires Indian River County to maintain an ADA
Transition Plan for Public Rights -of -Way.
NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF COUNTY
COMMISSIONERS OF INDIAN RIVER COUNTY, FLORIDA, that the Board hereby
adopts the Indian River County ADA Transition Plan for Public Rights -of -Way and authorizes
the Chairman of the Board to execute this Resolution.
The resolution was moved for adoption by Commissioner Flescher , and the motion
was seconded by Commissioner Loar , and, upon being put to a vote, the vote was as
follows:

Joseph H. Earman AYE
Joseph E. Flescher AYE
The Chairman thereupon declared the resolution duly passed and adopted thisl6th day
of June , 2026.
