At 'a special meeting of t he Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian
River County, Florida, held at the Court House in Vero Beach, at 1:30 P.M.Wednesday,
Aprilm25th 1934, the following members of the Board were present: J .J.P.Hamilton, 9
Chairman; J.D.Yongue and John M. bight. Also present was biles Warren, Clerk.
The Chairman announced the special meeting was called for the purpose of adopting
resolution directed to the Florida bnergency Relief Administration with respect to a
project covering repairs for the quay Bridge, known as Minter Beach Bridge.
Commissioner Yongue introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: _
RESOLUTION SHOWING THE NECESSITY FOR FEDERAL FUNDS
FOR RELIEF WORK PROJ'ECT'S.
BE I'T RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Indian River
State of Floride,, Emergency Relief Administrator, by its proposal for a work project
for salvaging material from an old bridge for the purpose of repairing the Winter Beech
Bridge which is now closed to vehicular traffic due to an unsafe condition, is a public
,-project for the benefit of the general public, and not for the benefit of any private
interest, and the title to the property upon which the work is to be performed is vest
in the Board of County. Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida.
The project embraces work that needs to be done for the general good of the comm-
unity, that there are no appropriated public funds available, nor any other way in whi
local public fund's may
be made available
with which to
do this work,
and
that
unless
Federal Funds are used
for this purpose,
the said work
cannot be done
at
this
time, nor
at any time within the near future; that any material over and above 3076' of the total
cost of Project will be furnished by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River
County, Florida,.
Read And adopted at a Special meeting of the Board of.County Commissioners of the
County of Indian River, State of Florida, this 25th day of April 1934.
