THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River
County, that the sum of V1,680.00 be appropriated for stages, and the sum of $3,289.00
for materials and for the necessary equipment and machinery for the proper performance
of work in connection with such repairs to said bridges.
The several bills and accounts Against the County having been audited, were ex-
amined and found correct, were approved and warrants ordered issued in settlement of
same. Such bills And accounts being on file in the office of Clerk Circuit Court.,, The
warrants so issued from the respective funds being listed completely in the County
Finance record as provided by laws reference to such. record and the list so recorded
being made a part of these minutes as fully and completely as if the same were set out
herein in detail.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board
adjourned until the next regular meeting, which shall be held on Monday, June 4th 1934.

ILOND", JUNE 4th 1934.
The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, r'lorida, met at
the Court House in 'Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock A. M. Mondays June 4th 19349 with the
following members of the Board present: J .J..p.Hamilton, Chairman; J .D.Yongue; R. E. Mudge;
and Edwin A. He lseth. Absent John M. Knight. Also present were Vim W Fr ick, Sheriff
James T. Vocelle, Attorney and riles Warren Clerk.
The Chairman announced the regular meeting for the month of June was called for this
day instead of the first Tuesday, on account that the regular meeting day' was the general
Democratic Primary election day,
The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved.
The Notary Public bond of E. G. Thatcher, in the sum of 4500.00 with the American
Surety Company, a corporation, as surety was approved.
The following persons were ordered placed on the pauper list to receive the amount
Ii ndicated until the further orders of this Board:
Mrs Mary A. Gore, Fellsmere... ...$6.00 per month
William Yates, Fellsm.ere... ...*6.00 per month
Mrs Jessie Yates, Fellsmere.....*12.00 per month
Mas `S. w. Moody, Wlinter Beach... 06.00 per month
Mrs Eva Helen Vojtik, Fellsmere, b'lorida, was ordered restored to the Mothers Pen-
sion list to receive the sum of 08.00 per month until the further orders of the Bogard.
It was ordered that anX additional 46.00 be paid to v.I.Cox, on account of vr.H.c;ox,
super, and that he then be . struck from the pauper list as he is leaving the State.
It was ordered that -Wm. F. Johnson, vlabasso, Florida, be paid his July 1934 pauper
arrant at. this time, in order to assist him in getting to Jacksonville for medical
treatment.
It was ordered that the salary of the Jailor as Guard at the jail be placed at
75.00 per month instead of X60.00 per month as heretofore.
Applications of the Barnett national Bank, Cocoa, Florida, and the Farmers Bank of
ero Beach, Florida, having been received to be designated as County Depository for the
ear beginning July let 1934 and ending June 30th 1935, and the Board having carefully
onsidered the proposals of each institution on motion made, seconded and carried, it ava.s
rdered the Barnett National Bans, Cocoa, Florida, be designated as County Depository for 1�
he ensuing year and that security in the sum of 010,000.00 in u.S.Government bonds be
moi.
set as the amount required to be lodged withthe State Comptroller. it was further ordered
that in event the deposits of the County exceed this amount that additional Government
bonds be lodged with this Board.
Commissioner Yongue iatrwdueed the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS the 'State Board of _administration has submitted certain proposals of firms
or corporations offering to sell certain bonds of the County of Indian River and obliga-
tions assumed by said County that are due St. Lucie county, under the provisions of
House Bi 11 No. 30, .,acts of the 1933 Legislature, and
WHEREAS, after carefully considering the said proposals, and taking into considera-
tion the value of said bonds and the -mount of funds available for this purpose it is
deemed expedient and advisable to purchase certain of said bonds;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By that Board of County Commi ssioners of Indian River
County, Florida, that the State Board of administration be requested to purchase the
f ollowing securities: -
One (1) St Lucie County. R&B Dist #11 61'o bond, dated Jan 1,1918,
due July 1,1944 at the price of 43 flat as designated '"A".
Four (4) St Lucie County public Highway 6`a bonds dated Feb 1,1920,
due Feb 1 1950s being bonds #525--526--527 & 5289 at the price
of 47 flat as designated OB".
Upon being put to a vote the same was unanumously adopted.
It was ordered that the State Road Department be permitted to use Universal Erane
in repairing Eau Gallie Bridge, the Road Department to pay the upkeep, and depreciation
charges of ,17.O0 per day and use only the County road forces in the operation of same.
it was ordered that the Road &xperintendent oil such roads as funds are available t
do this work with.
Representative of the Florida East Coast Railroad Company appeared before the Board
and offered to sell certain securities which are obligations of this County to the Board:
same to be purchased from the Railroad Company out of the proceeds of the 1933 taxes due
by said Company to the County of Indian River, and the Board having carefully considered
said proposal and taking into consideration the amount of taxes due and to be paid by
said Railroad Company, it was unanimously agreed and ordered that the Clerk and Chairman
purchase the following obligations of the County immediately upon.payment by said Rail-
road Company of their 1933 County taxes.
One bond of Vero Bridge District, for account of said Fero
Bridge District.
One bond of Fero Bridge District, for account of investment
on behalf of quay Bridge District.
Two St.11ucie County Public Highway bonds,with all unmatured
coupons attached, from proceeds of the General interest &
Si nki ng Yu nd .
Two St Lucie County Public Highway bonds,with all unmatured
coupons attached, from proceeds of the Outstanding Indebted-
ness Fund.
The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were exami
and found correct, were approved, and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same.
Such bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk Circuit Court. Such
bills and accounts having been approved by each County Commissioner present. The warran�s
so issued fromtthe respective funds being listed completely in the County finance record
as provided by law, reference to said record, and the list so recorded being made a part
of these minutes as fully and completely as if the same were set out herein in detail.
The County Depository filed its monthly report of receipts and disbursements, which`
having been checked over was found to be correct.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board then'
adjourned until Saturday, June 9th 1934.
