Face Track Funds . . . .. .. .... .. . .. . . . . .. . . ..W5 ,000.00 Tax Redemptions... .................. 925.00 Cosh balance on hand ...................... .00 rot 5 , 925.00 The Tax Assessor having presented his books showing the assessed valuation of property for examination by the Board in compliance with the requirements of Section 934 of Compiled General Taws of Florida., and the Board of County Commissioners having given notice fof fifteeri days by publication in the Vero Beach Dress -Journal, a news- paper published at Vero Bench in the County of Indian river, that the Board woul, meet on this day as a Board of equalizers for the purpose of hearing complaints and receiving testimony as to the value of any property, real, personal or mixed, as fixed by the County `rax Assessor of taxes for assessment for the taxes of the year 19349 the owners and agents of property, who appeared for that purpose, were allowed to make full and complete statements as to the valuation of the property owned or represented by them and the Tax assessor and the members of the Board having fully discussed the statements and facts as presented took,all such matters under advisement until the following day. The Board then adjourned until Tuesday, July 3rd 1934. a, 'V 1, ATTE : , Chai Baan. 1 e r k. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - TUESDAY,- JULY 3rd 1934, U.e Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met in the office ok the Clerk of the Circuit Court at Vero Beach, in the county of Indian River, on this the 3rd day of July, 1934, and the following County Commissioners were present: J .J. P.Hamilton, Chairman; R.E.Mdge; And John 11. dight, Absent Wdwin A. Helseth. Also present were vim. W. Frick, -sheriff; Chas. A. Mitchell, &attorney and Miles Marren, Cl a rk . The minutes of the previous meetings were read and approved. The following named persons were ordered placed on the pauper list to receive the amount indicated until the further orders of this Board: Xrs Pat Cleary, c/o J .L.TAvingston,Fellsmere, W6.00 per month Sam Redden ( Col), Fells ere ...................x6.00 per month J.L.Powers; S.C.Beers; A.S.Pfarr and S.E.Smith appeared before the Board regarding. water overflowing the road and their property west of wabasso and after fully stating the facts agreed to clear right-of-way and furnish fuel and nail and a helper on road machine to dig a ditch. They also agreed to secure the right-of-way and hold the County harmless on any other matters or things that may arise in connection with this work. After fully discussing the project it was ordered this work be done at the first opportunity. On. v'lodtke .appeared before the Board representing the Junior Chamber of Commerce and requested the use of old lumber from Vero Bridge to construct a fishing pier in Indian River. it was ordered that all old material taken from. the Bridge and not to be used by the County be donated for this purpose. It was ordered that bills submitted for meals for inspectors and Clerk of the Sebastian precinct be rejected and not paid in accordance with an order heretofore entered by this Board, and the Clerk instructed to advise those submitting such bills of this action. The bond of Frank C. Vickers, as County Commissioner District No. 11 succeeding Hon. J. y. Yongue, deceased, in the sum of 42,000.00 with Royal indemnity Company, a corporation as surety was approved. The following resolution was introduced by commissioner Mudge, who moved its adoption WBEREAS, at the time of the freezing of deposits of harmers Bank of Vero Beach, there was on deposit therein to the credit of ri. V. Knott, as County Treasurer ex -officio of Indian River Uounty, Florida, the sum of *6,,278.77, which said sum erose from tax collections in said County for the interest and sinking funds of special tax -districts therein; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, that this Board does hereby recommend to and requests the State Board of Administration that in order to liquidate said frozen deposits that said Board of Administration accept any bonds of any maturity of Indian River County, Florida, or its special tax districts, in settlement and liquidation of the said deposit in the said Bank. Upon being put to a vita the some was unanimously adopted. Angus Sumner, State Attorney appeared before the Board and requested that supplies If urnished Inspectors of darks and Brands of this County. No action was taken as it was understood the owners of cattle would pay all expenses in connection with the appointment of such inspectors. T. M. Riles, Fellsmere, was ordered stricken from the pauper list as he is now em I p loy ed by the FERA . Commissioner Mudge introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: WHEREAS, there is a balance in the Publicity :Fund of *632.75 and a balance in the lAg ricultural Fund of §1.31, .funds under the control of this Board, and, WFOH AS it appears that no items will be expended from either of said funds and no I further bills will be approved for payment therefrom., 1HEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, that the said sum, of §632.75 now in the Publicity Fund and the said sum of $1.31 now in the Agricultural Fund be transferred to the interest & Sinking Fund of the County and the same be used for the purchase, on the m<orket, of liens of the County now out- standing. bl'uch transfers to be made only upon the approval of same by the State Comp- troller. The several bills and accounts against the County, hoeing been audited, were examined and found correct were approved and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. Such bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk Circuit court. The warrants so issued from the respective funds being listed completely in the Uounty finance record as provided by law, reference to said record and the list so recorded being made a, part of these minutes as fully and completely as if the same were set out herein in detail. The Tax Assessor having heretofore presented his books showing the assessed valuation of property for examination by the Board in compliance with the requirements 1 ,.1 of Section 934 Compiled General Laws the Board again resolved itself into a Board of Equalizers for the purpose of hearing complaints and receiving testimony as to the value of any property, real, personal or mixed, as fixed by the County Assessor of taxes for assessment for the taxes for the year 1934, and also to consider such com- plaints as heretofore laid before the Board. The owners and agents of property, who appeared for that purpose, were allowed to make full and complete statements as to the valuation of the property owned or represented by them and the Tax Assessor and the members of the Board having fully discussed the statements and facts as presented decided not to increase or lower the valuation of any property on the said roll. it was thereupon ordered that the iax assessor be and is hereby instructed to assess the property at the valuation fixed by himself as Tax Assessor. There being no further business on motion mode, seconded and carried the Board then adjourned until thurddny, July 5th 1934. 0. U.e Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House, at Vero Beach, on this the 5th day of July, 1934, and the following County Commissioners were present: J.J.P.Hamilton, Chairman; X.E.Mudge; John M. Knight and Edwin -A.Helseth. Also present were an W Frick, 'Sheriff; Chas. A. Idtohell, attorney for the Board and Miles Warren, Clerk. it was ordered that Mrs. Francis Sloan of wabasso be placed on the pauper list to receive the sum of 46.00 per month until the further orders of the Board. It was ordered that Commissioner Knight and Road Superintendent Kersey be named a committee to purchase a truck for County use. Road Supt. Kersey was directed and authorized to sell old Model "TO Ford to 0. H. Stephens, for the sum of 425.00
