The Board of County Commissioners of Indian Kiger County, Florida, met at, the Cou
House in Nero Beach, at 1:30 o'clock P.M. Tuesday, October X5th 1935,- With the follow-
ing members of they Board presents J. J. F. Hamilton, Chairman; Frank C. Vickers and X.E.
Absent ComI r s. 'Poole and He lseth.
Ridge./ also present were .on W. Frick, Sheriff, Chas. a. Mitchell, attorney and Miles
Warren, Clerk.
John W. E. V&eeler appeared before the Board regarding the Workman's Compensation
act passed by the 1935 Legislature, and advised that the premium on such insurance as
required under the Act will cost from $300.00 to $350.00 per annum. After some discussw
ion it was ordered that this matter be held in abeyance until the full membership of
Board is present,
W. R. Duncan, Tax assessor, presented his bills and accounts against the ,several
'Special Taxing Districts in the County for .taxes assessed for the year 1935, for app
and same having been carefully audited same were duly approved. 80% of the total
of said bills -agsa.inet the respective Districts being in as follows:

T. A. Stewart, appeared before the Board and submitted an offer to purchase from
-the County Lot 9 Block 29 Edgewood 2nd Addition to Vero Beach, and after carefully con.
sidering the proposal and taking into consideration the condition of the property, some
was a.ceepted, and the following resolution was adopted:

Commissioner Mudge introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption,
to -wits
Vhereas, T. A. Stewart and Lola. J. Stewart, husband and wife, have offered to
the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County $4000.00 in principal amount
of general obligation bonds of said County, now unpaid and outstanding, and the sum of
4825:00 in cash for the conveyance to thes-aid T. A. Stewart and Lola J. 9tewart9husband
- and wife, of property owned by Indian River County, Florida -and situated in said County
and particularly described as follows, to -hits
Lot 9 in Block 2 of Edgewood Second Addition to Vero, Florida, (now Vero Beach,
Florida) . a.ccording to plat of said subdivision as recorded on Page 3 of plat
Book 4 of the records of St. Lucie County, Fl-
orida; together with -the furni-
ture, fixtures and furnishings now belonging to the grantor herein and now
located in, the building on said premises;
Mfereas said property owned by said County was accepted by it in settlement of
certain frozen credits in Farmers Bank of Vero Beach rand has situated thereon an apart-
m.ent building which requires an immediate large expenditure of money in order to place
the in good condition and to make the same subject to.rental at a reasonable price;

It appearing to the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County,
rafter careful inspection of the above described premises and after careful consideration
of said offer, that it is to the best interest of said County and the citizens and tax-
payers thereof to accept said offer; therefore,
Be It Resolved that upon ther eceipt by the Clerk of this Board of $825.00 in
cash and $4000.00 principal amount of bonds of Indian River County, now validly outstand',
-ing and unpaid, that the

the year 1935 be paid by the purehasesa; and that no commission for sale of said proper-
ty is due from or shall be paid by this Board.

The following resolution was introduced by Comanissioner Mudge, and was unani-
mouely adopted=
BB IT RESOLVED, by the Board of
County
Commissioners of
Indian River County,
Florida., in special session assembled this
15th*
day of October,
19354 that this Board
hereby elects to invoke and does hereby accept and adopt the provisions of Paragraph (d)
of House Bill #30, approved May 27th. 19339 and does hereby determine that - it is for the
9 best interest of Indian River County to use any and all moneys derived from the gaso-
ine talc and now or hereafter credited to the account of ,this County or Road and Bridge
Districts therein, for the purpose of purchasing. at a price below the par value thereof
and at the lowest acceptable offer subject to the specific limitations hereinafter pre-
scribed, ar t road and bridge bond or bonds of such County -or Special Aistriet, and the
exclusive use of such funds by the State Board of administration for the. purchase of
such. County and District Road or road and bridge bonds to which such moneys as credited
to this County would be applicable, is hereby sanctioned and approvad,- and the Starte
Board of administration is hereby authorized, and requested, until further notioe, to use
such funds exclusively for the purchase of such bonds in-open.market' transaction in ac-

cordance with the general provisions, of the 1933 got, and subject- to the following limi-
tations as specifically provided in Paragraph- (g )., thereof s
Price to be paid shall not exceed 45 MT for all bonds. In the event bid is
submitted for more -than -45 flat notify Board of County Commissioners and additional
resolutionB will be adopted if bid is satisfactory.
BE IT FWTAER RESOLVED, that any and all transactions consummated or negotiat-
ions instituted and or ammitments made by the State Board of Administration on behalf
of Indian River County under and by virtue of the authority hereby extended pursuant to
the teams of H. B. #30, are hereby ratified and confirmed.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a certified copy of this resolution be immediate-
ly furnished the State Board of administration.

An offer having been made -and submitted to this Board desiring to exchange
six St Lucie County Public Highway bonds, with all urmiatured coupons attached ,'`for Five
Road & Dock bonds No. 122--1223--124-. 125 and 126 heretofore purchased by this -;Board,
and it appearing from said bonds that with the exchange the County will acctumala.te the
sum of $19865.00 additional principal and interest due and to become due to St -4cie
County, Florida,, on the pro -rata debt, without any additional cost, it was ordered that
the Clerk make such exchange and accept the six Public Highway bonds.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the, Board
then adjourn un it regular meeting to be held in November 1935.
