Emergency Services District 11:00 1. a.m., Approval to Replace Seven (7) Cardiac Monitors for Fire Rescue Division from Medtronic Emergency Response Systems (memorandum dated March 25, 2015) PACKET PAGES 207-213 (Clerk's Note: This item was heard following Item 14.D.1. and is placed here for continuity. Emergency Services District Items 15.A.2. and 15.A.3. were heard following Item 4. Additions/Deletions to the Agenda/Emergency Items). ON MOTION by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED by Vice Chairman Solari, the Board unanimously approved the sole brand/sole source purchase of seven (7) LifePak 15 cardiac monitors from Medtronic Emergency Response Systems, in the amount of $209,835.91. Add: Revised Imposition Article 34 (Salaries) a.m. Firefighters/Paramedics Association Local 2201, International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) (Clerk's Note: This item was heard following Item 4 Additions/Deletions to the Agenda/Emergency Items, and is placed here for continuity). Director of Emergency Services John King and Richard Ridge, Vice President, Local 2201, addressed the Board conjointly. They asked the Board to reconsider its legislative action taken at the March 20, 2015 Impasse Resolution Hearing with regards to Article 34 Salaries, and approve the revised Imposition Article 34 Salaries. ON MOTION by Vice Chairman Solari, SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, the Board unanimously approved to reconsider the Board's March 20, 2015 legislative action on Article 34 Salaries. Vice Chairman Solari pointed out that the cost of living increase would go from three percent (3%), as approved on March 20, 2015, to five and one-half percent (5 %%) in the revised Article 34. MOTION WAS MADE by Vice Chairman Solari, SECONDED by Commissioner Flescher, to approve the Revised Imposition Article 34 Salaries, which includes a five and one-half percent (5 %%) cost of living increase, and a revised step increase plan. County Attorney Dylan Reingold confirmed with Vice Chairman Solari that his Motion was inclusive of the entire Paragraph 34.02 in Article 34 Salaries. Bob Johnson, Coral Wind Subdivision, sought and received a clarification on the contract year. The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION and the Motion carried unanimously. 9:10 3. Add: Funding for a Temporary Housing Facility for Station No. 7 a.m. Chairman Davis wanted to ensure that there would be no delay in providing the County Administrator with the means to secure a temporary facility for Fire Station 7. 213A - 213K Emergency Services District Page 2 April 7, 2015 Commissioner Flescher was concerned that the proposed $200,000 allocation might be insufficient. MOTION WAS MADE by Commissioner Flescher, SECONDED by Vice Chairman Solari, to authorize the County Administrator to allocate up to $250,000 for immediate occupancy of a temporary facility for Fire Station 7. A brief discussion ensued about the status of the environmental testing and projected remediation efforts for Fire Stations 10 and 11. Commissioner O'Bryan asked staff to have the contractor expedite the remediation efforts. The Chairman CALLED THE QUESTION, and the Motion carried unanimously.
