The Aoard of County Commissioners in 6nd.for Indian River County, Florida, met at -the
Court Hquse in Vero Beach, at 10:00 o'clock a... `:t'uesday, ivovember 5th 1935, with the foll-

A delegation headed by T. A. Stewart appeared before the Board and requested a donation
of V200.00 for uniforms for the local School. banit, s,'ame to be paid as an advertising item,
and after discussion,, -it was moved, seconded and carried that this amount be appropriated and
expended out of the -Advertising fund item in the General Revenue. iPind.
Mrs. Fanny Hornsby, who cares for pauper Kahala Gollnick appeared and requested addi-
tional funds to care for this patient. it was ordered that the allowance be increased to
$15.00 per month beginning December. lot 1935.
Mrs. W. H. walker. mother of mr9. J.� R. C9nniff,:' who is now on the pauper. rolls appeared
and requested additional aid for this pauper.. She was advised that no additional funds could
be allowed in this case at this time.
Mrs. Alma King tappearad before the Board requesting aid. No action was taken on this
request.
E. G. Thatcher appeared before the Board and explained the plans of issuing a publicity
booklott for the section between and including New Smyrna and StuArt and requested an appro-
priation of X100.00 out of the publicity item in the Genere.l Revenue Fond to assist in meeting
the expense in connection therewith. it was moved, seconded and carried that this sum be
appropriated.
Miss vanilla wells,. County Hone Demonstration Agent appeared before the Board and made`' -
a verbal report of her activities for the month of October and explained in detail the nece-
ssity of procuring for the County a canning plant. It was ordered that a sum not to exceed
$200.00 be appropriated for the purchase of a canning outfit, same to be purchased by the
Agent and approved by her,
The Mothers' Pension application of Mrs Emma Cox, widow, Vero Beach, was received and
considered. It was ordered she be placed on the lint to receive the sum of $10.00 per month
until the further orders of the Board.
The question of paupers and those in meed then came before the Board and after fully
discussing the same, and taking into consideration the condition of the persons, it was
ordered the following be placed on the pauper list to receive the amount indicated until the
further orders of the Board:

ThezvRoad Superintendent called to the attention of the Board the necessity for a Tractor
in connection with the County Road work, and after considering the same, the County Attorney
was instructed to prepare an advertisement inviting bids for the purchase of same, such bids
or proposals to be opened at 1100 o'clock A. M. Tuesdays December 3rd 1935. The Board
reserving the right to reject any and all bids or proposals.
H. W. Fersch appeared before the Board regarding road leading from State Road No.s°4,
just .South of Vero Beach, Eastwardly to his place. He advised the Board the right-of-way
has all been secured. .Aster considering this request it was ordered that this work be done
at once and the road put in proper shape.
-RESOLUTION:
The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner Vickers, who moved its
adoption:

TH' REAS, the Board of Administration has submitted certain proposals of firms and cor-
porations offering to sell to said Board of administration certain bonds of the County of
Indian River, and obligations assumed by said County, under the provisions of. House Bill No.
309 Acts of the 1933 Legislature, and,
TIHEREAS, after carefully considering all of such proposals, and taking into consideratiox
the amount of funds available for that purpose, and the approximate value of said bonds, it
is deemed advisable and expedient to purchase certain of said bonds and obligations, to -wit:
One (1) St Lucie, County Public Highway bond, dated Feb 1, 1920 due
Feb 1, 1948 with Aug lst 1933 and subsequent coupons attached at a
price of 62*, as designated offering 11B".
Two (2) 8t . Lucie County Public Highway bonds, dated Feb 19 1920, at
Peds price of 59 each, with all unpaid coupons attached, as designated
offering "C". and,
71HEREA99 it appears that certain coupons on two of such bonds have been paid to date;
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of Administration be requested to purchase
the foregoing bonds and obligations in accordance withthe teras of the offerings as submitted.
The foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Poole, and upon being put to
a vote the same me unanimously adopted.
The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were examined ant
found correct were approved and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. Such bills
and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk Circuit Court. The warrants so issued
f rom the respective funds being listed in the supplemental minute book as required by the
rules and practice of the State Auditing department, reference to said record and the list so
recorded being made a pert of these minutes.
The County depository filed its monthly report showing receipts and disbursements for
month of October, which having been audited was found to be correct.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board then
adjourned until the next regular meeting unless called together sooner on order ef the Chair-
man.
