A. Emergency Services District
11:45 1. Add: Update on Fire Stations
a.m.
Emergency Services Director John King updated the Board on the
status of the Fire Stations and stated that on Wednesday, April 8,
2015, the County received notice to move forward with mold
remediation and the renovation process with the Fire Stations. He
continued that Contract Services started the repairs at Fire Station
11, located at Wabasso Beach on Thursday, April 9, 2015, and the
repairs were expected to be completed within three to four weeks.
He added, once Fire Station 11 was completed, Contract Services
would begin repairs at Fire Station 10.
Director King recalled Fire Station 1, located at Old Dixie
Highway, has an approximately $1 million renovation project
scheduled. As part of the process to move forward with the
renovations, two commercial modular units were ordered with the
first modular to be placed at Fire Station 1. He said some of the
staff from Fire Station 1 would be temporarily moved to Fire
Stations 2 and 3, leaving a crew of five remaining at Fire Station 1.

Director King indicated the second commercial modular was for
Fire Station 7 and staff was actively looking for property to place it
on.

There being no further business, the Chairman declared the meeting adjourned at 11:53 a.m.
