of Commerce appeared before the Board and offered the facilities of that body for wW cerimon-
iee in connection with the laying of the corner stone of the new Court House. The Board
gladly accepted the offer.
A letter was received from w. P. Bailey, Secretary of the Indian xiver Farms Drainage
District requesting space in the new Court Mouse when completed. The Clerk was instructed to
advise Mr. Bailey that after completion of the building if there was any space available the
Drainage District shall have preference over it.
a large delegation of school teachers from the ve ro »each elementary, Junior high and
Senior high school appeared before the Board and requested the County Commissioners donate a
part of the race track funds to the County Board of Public instructions. The Board advised
that everything possible will be done to assist the school Board in meeting their back salaariei
due to the teachers of the County.
`Phe several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were examined and
found correct, were approved, and warrants ordered issued in settlement of some. Such bills
and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk Circuit Court. The warrants so issued
from the respective funds being listed completed in the supplemental minute book as required
by the regulations of the State Auditor, reference to said record and the list so recorded
being made a part of these minutes.
The County depository filed its monthly report of receipts and disbursements of the
various funds, which having been checked over was found to be correct.
`,here being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board then
adjourned until called by the Chairman in special session.

The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the
Court House in Vero Beach at 2s00 o'clock P. M. in special session on call of the Chairman,,
with the following members of the Board presents a.J.P.Hamilton, Ch€aisman; Frank C. Vickers;
R. E. Midge; E. P. Poole and Edwin A. Helseth. Also present were Fames T. Vocelle, Attorney,
' willism Prick Sheriff, and Miles warren, Clerk.
Application for'licinse tip sell liquor of T. R. Cadenhead, wabasso, was received and
carefully considered and duly approved by the Board.
The Members of the Board and Clerk signed the financial report of the County for the
period * October lot 1934 to September 30th 19359 which was forwarded to the State Comptro]
The Clerk reported he was in receipt of Federal check in the sum of 4179500.00 as the
initial payment of the grant for w .P.A Project No. 4020-R. Court House construction. Same was
ordered placed- in theIndian itiver Citrus. Bank of Vero Beach, the designated and approved
depository for such funds.
it was ordered that w. H. tarns, architeetg be paid the sum of 01,000.00 as per contract
with him for the plans and specificaations.
The Clerk reported that the following funds had been .expended. for the items indicated in
connection with the proposed Court Houses

It was ordered that these amounts be re -distributed beck to the respective funds from
ch expended out of the Court House construction fund of the County.

BE IT HISOLVED that the foregoing wage scale be made a part of any contract for the eon.
struction of said Indian River County Court House and that all persons, firms or corpora-
tions engaged in the construction of said Indian River County Court House be required to ob-
serve the foregoing wage scale and pay employees in accordance therewith.
The adoption of the resolution being duly seconded, upon roll call it was adopted by
the following votes t►yess Commissioners Vickers; Hudge; Poole; Helseth and Hamilton. Nays
none. The resolution was declared adopted.
W. H. Garns, representative of the County in the construction of the Court House appear-
ed and advised that it will be necessary to have tested by some commercial concern the band,
Ojue rock and concrete such costs to be borne by the County, but paid for out of Court House
funds. It was ordered that Mr. Garns have some recognized testing lobatcry tests these
terials to the satisfaction of the Government inspector or inspectors.
The question of the kind of brick to be used in the Court House then casae up for dis-
cuseion. In the plans and specifications certain brick to cost $30.00 per thousand was named,
and in the event the Board d®sires a higher grade brick the difference in price must be paid
by the County. D. H. ssaunders, a representative of the Brief & Tile Ma'nufa'cturing Co ., of
Birmingham, Alabama, was present and exhibited the various type's and style of brick of his
firm. After carefully considering the same, it was moved, seconded and carried that brick
339 Cordova Flash brick, manufactured by this concern, at a price of 640.00 per thousand
e purchased through Mr. -sunders. Such price to be delivered on the project.
There being no further business on motion made, seconded and carried the Board then
adjourned until the regular meeting to be held in May, unless sooner called together on order
of the Chairman. "A
