TUESDAY, FEBRUNRY. 2nd 1926.. The Board of County Comnisioners in and for Indian RiverCounty, Florida, met at the Court House- in 'Nero Beach, on Tuesday, February 2nd, 1926 at 10 o'clock A.M.wit the following members of the Board present: John H. Atkin, Chairmen; G.A.Braddock; J.W.LaBruce; Donald Forbes and 0. 0. Helseth. Also present were Niles Warren, Clerk and J.W.Knight, Sheriff. The minutes of the previous meetings were readand approved. The Notary Public bond. of Walter T James, in the Bum of $500.00 with the American Surety Company, of New York, a corporation as surety was approved. The Notary Public bond of B.H.Phillips, in the sum. of $500.00 with the American Surety Company, of New York, a corporation as surety was approved. The. Notary Public bond of Frank X. Oliver, in the sum of $500.00 with the America Surety Company, of NeW York, a corporation as surety was approved. The Notary Public bond of Ws 3ulia Ingersoll, in the sum of $500.00 with the American Surety Company,, of .New York, a corporation as surety was approved. The Deputy Sheriff bond of Mr.Baavie, in the sum of $1,.000.00 withJ.M.Hnight and Louis Harris, as sureties was approved. The following Road Petition was received, read and filed: ROAD PETITION STATE OF FLORIDA COUNTY OP INDIAN RIVE) TO THE HONORABLE BO= OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS OF SAID COUNTY: Gentlmen: We, theundereigned, citizens ofthe County of Indian River, State of Florida, respectfully represent that the necessities of the public require a County Road to be laid out as follows, to -wit: Commencing at Dixie Highway on 1/2 Section line ofSection 22Township32 South of Range 39 Mast, running West 1t mile, this temporary road that' being use is far South of the line, ,this road is very badit needed and is of great value to the County—Vero Beach --and the land owners. It is needed for it's sand valu=s to Vero Beach. The Board having considered said petition, and being advised by the County Engin- eer that same was declared a public County road by the. Board of County Commissioners o St. Lucie County, it was ordered said petition be tabled. This road to be 18 feet hard surface. Said road right-of-way to be not less than 40 feet in width. We therefore petition your honorable body to cause to be laid out and opened a County Road as above described, and we, the owners of the land through which said Road is sought to be laid out, in consideration of the sum of one dollar to us each and severally in hand paid by the said. County of Indian River, the receipt of which is here- by acknowledged, hereby agree to give the right-of-way through our lands, as shown by the plat accompanying this petition, Rad relinquish all claims for image by reason thereof. It was ordered that A.M.Hill, A.W.Young and D.L.Leisher, be appointed a Committee to view, mark out said road and report to this Board. Check in the amount of $1170.00 was received by the Vero Beach Chamber of Com- merce for back rent on the Court House quarters for the period beginning July let,1925, and ending January 1st 1926. After considerable discussion, on roll call the following vote was cast with respect to the proposition of accepting br rejecting the check. Commissioner G.A.Braddock, Reject Commissioner J. SECTION IIt As a condition precedent of the taking effect of this grant, the County of Indian River hereby reserved such right as is given to it by Section 1844 of the Revised General Statutes of Florida, of 1920, -if applicable, and as it is required to reserve by said. section, if applicable, to purchase at aadr,after the expiration of the tem of this grant the property of the Grantee as and to the extent provided in and required by such section, and the Grantee by the acceptance hereof shall be deemed to have given and granted to Indian. SECTION III: That poles and towers shall be so located as not to interfere with traff3 *ter such public roads, highways, streets, avenues, alleys, bridges, ease- ments, and other public piaees, and the location thereof, or re -location as may be de- sired by e-siredbyr the Grantee here or rewired by the County, shall be made under the supervis- ion of said. Board. of County Commissioners or such engineer or superintendent as may be designated by it for such purpose, but not so as unreasonably to interfere with the proper operation of Grantee ' s lines or service. SECTION IV's Said Indiana River County Eiheli in no way be liable Or responsible for any accident or damage that may occur in the construction, operation or maintenance by the Grantee of its lines and appurtenances hereunder. Braddock, in the sum of $500,00, with American Surety Company of New York as surety, was approved. A committee from the Vero Beach Realty Board, composed of Mr. W. E. Sexton, Mr. C. E. Cobb and Mr. C. E. Vinnedge, appeared before the Board, with request that -the Board of2,:County Commissioners employ a County Pam Demonstration agent for this County. After discussion of the matter, this Committee was invited to report and bepresent at the next regular meeting of this Board. Judge M. M. Miller and A. G. Roberts, appeared before the Board and filed petition for road as follows: Commencing at a point where the Old Dixie Highway South of G. L. Braddock'ss farm approaches the Florida East Coast Railroad. Thence Westerly across the Railt; Thence Southeasterly along and parallel to the Railway* right-of-way to the North line of Sect- ion 20, Tp. 31 S. R. 39 E. to a road already declared.
