of possession of the State of Florida for the use of said road, to any portion of those lands
and easements required by the Department for said project as aforesaid, and the County agrees
to pay and discharge all lawful claims, damages, judgments, decrees and any other expenses
arising from or growing out of such claims, injuries, actions or suits.
4. After the acquisition of said right of.way and easements by said County and the
acceptance of same as satisfactory by the Department, the Department agrees to construct the
aforesaid project at the earliest date it determines practicable, and appropriate or cause to
be appropriated the funds for said construction.
IN 'WITNESS MHEREOF the Department has caused this agreement to be executed in dupli-
tate by its Chairman and its Secretary, and its official seal to be attached; and the County
has caused it to be executed by its Chairman and its_Clerk, and its official seal to be at-
tacked the day and year first above written.

As to the County
The several bill and accounts against the Court, having been audited were examined
and found correct, were approved and warrants ordered issued.in settlement of same. Such bills
and accounts being on.file in the office of the Clerk Circuit Court. The warrants so issued
from the respective funds being listed in the supplemental minute bookasprovided by the rule
of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a part of
these minutes.
The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disbursement
of the various funds which having been audited was found to be correct.
There being no further business on motion made seconded and carried the Board then
adjourned. •

TUESDAY, KAY 6TH9 1941.
The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House in
Vero Beach at 10:00 o'alock A. K., Tuesday, May 6th, 19419 in regular meeting with the follow-
ing members of the Board present: C. S. Michael, Chairman, Albert O. Helseth, S. E. Glover,
Freak C. Vickers and W. C. Graves, Jr#$Also.present were Chas. A. Mitchell, Attorney for the
Board, Im. W. brick," Sheriff and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
The minutes of April 1st, 1941 were read and approved.
Hon. A. W. Young, Chairman.of the Committee for Defense on Food and Agriculture
ppeared before the Board and suggested a County Home Demonstration for Indian River County
with the idea in mind of looking to the future regarding emergencies in case of war. Mr. Young
further stated that he was making no plea for funds unless the Board feels that a food and
agriculture program is essential. It was brought out that many people could be taught to conse
and made the most of clothes and foods by a County Home Demonstration Agent.
Mrs. E. E. Carter representing the Welfare Board requested the sum of $25.00 towards
Hospitalization and operation of an eye for Chandler Hamilton. On motion made by Commissioner
Graves, seconded by Commissioner Glover, and carried the request was granted and the appropria-
tion made from the GENERAL REQENUE FUND.
On Motion made by S. E. Glover, seconded by Frank C. Vickers and carried the Board
appropriated'the sum of $40 towards the expense of an eye operation for Bo Herren,(Colored)
Wabasso.
Miss Leila M. Bunkley, County Nurse appeared before the Board and made a report of
her activities for the month of April as follows, to -wit:

It was ordered F. G. Young be removed from the Pauper's list as he is now receiving
Old Age Assistance.
It was ordered J. H. McLain, Gifford receive the sum of $7.00 per month in lieu of
$5.00 until. the further orders of the Board.
It was ordered Mrs. Gertrude Knight receive the sura of $8.00 from the Mother's Pensi
Fund in lieu of $4.00 until the further orders of the Board
It was ordered the sum of $10.00 be paid-... toward the cost of eye glasses for R. E.
Thompson and wife, Sebastian.
On Motion made by Frank.C. Vickers, seconded by S. E. Glover and carried the Board
authorized the sum of $25.00 each as operation expense for Mrs. Conway and Mrs. Elton Thompson,
Sebastian.

Attorney Chas. A. Mitchell was instructed to preparel notice for on four new
trucks. ,'Purchase if made ` to be , on cash basis 'or ° on, cash basis with allowance for trade-in on
four trucks now owned by the County.
The Bo4rd approved, at the request of Sheriff Frick, the purchase of insecticide for
the County Jail.
At the request of Hon. W. R. Duncan the Board approved the purchase of a map for the
Tax Assessors office in the sum of $5.00.
It was moved by W. C. Graves, Jr., seconded by Frank C. Vickers and unanimously
carried that all delinquent State and County taxes be paid before the Board would approve any
replat for reooyd dn,"any lands involved in the said replat.

On motion made by Commissioner W.C. Graves, Ir. seconded by Albert G.'Helseth the follow-

ing Resolution was adopted.
RESOD, that the State Board of Administration be herewith authorized and requested to
transfer all funds now held in the Banner Bill account to the credit of Quay Bridge District
in Indian River County, Florida to the interest.and.sinking..fund account of Quay Bridge District
for the purpose of providing funds to pay matured bonds and coupons of said quy Bridge Districl

Beach at 7:30 o'clock P.M., Saturday, May 24, 19419 in regular adjourned meeting with the fol-
lowing members of the Board present: C.S. Michael, Chairman, Albert 0. Helseth, S.E. Glover,
Frank C. Vickers and W.C. Graves, Jr. Also present were Marshall 0. Mitchell,. Attorney for the
Board-, E.E. Carter, County Engineer and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
The Chairman announced that this meeting was held, among other things, for the purpose of
the opening of sealed bids for Four Trucks and One Tractor Mower as invited by public notices
published in The Vero Beach Press -Journal, a newspaper of general circulation published at Vero
Beach, Indian River County, Florida and sworn proof of publication of said public notice being
