HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/24/19411 Y 1 1 1 i40ke, and does hereby accept and adopt, for the benefit of the Taxing Units in this County ide ified below, the provisions of Chapter 15891, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1933, commonly known as the "Kanner Bill % as re-enacted and amended by Chapter 19279, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1939, ae re-enacted and amended by Chapter 20302, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1941, insofar as the latter Act re-enacts lette red paragraphs (a) to (g), inclusive, of said Act of 1933. Taxing Units covered by this Resolution Wabasso Bridge District; Special Road and Bridge District No. 4; Special Road and Bridge District No. 1; All in Indian River County, Florida. Pro -rata debt to St. Lucie County. SECOND: All surplus funds, as contemplated in Sub -section (h) of Chapter 20302, Laws of Florida, Acts of 1941, remaining to the credit of this County, shall be deposited in the sinking fund accounts of this County, as provided in Sub -section (j) of.Chapter 20302, Laws of Florida, 1941. THIRD: That bonds of all issues of the identified taxing units to which any of the gasoline tax may be allocated or credited,•s everally, shall be eligible for purchase hereunder, and this Board reserves the right to have submitted to it for approval any offering or offeri received by the State Board of Administration in response to public advertisement. FOURTH: That.this Board hereby expressly reserves to itself, in respect to rescinding, limiting, amending, or modifying the terms of this resolution, all of the rights and privileges accorded it under said law. FIFTH: That duplicate certified copies of this resolution be furnished the_ State Board of Administration. The resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Helseth and upon being put to a vote Same was unanimously adopted. The several bills and account.s.against the County, having been audited were examined and found correct, were approved and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. Such bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The warrants so issued from the respective funds being listed in'the Supplemental minute book as provided by the, rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a part of these minutes. The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disbursements of the various funds which having been audited was found to be correct. There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried the Board then adjoined. ATTES • . . The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Courhouse in Vero Beach at 1:00 P.:M., Monday, November 24, 1941, in special meeting with the following members of the Board present: C. S. Michael, Chairman; Frank C. Viokers, SN. C. Graves, Jr., Albert 0. Helseth, and S. E. Glover. Also present were Chas. A. Mitchell, Attorney and Douglas Baker, Clerk. The Chairman announced this meeting was called for the purpose of reviewing and in- specting the 1941 tax rolls and such other business as might be properly brought before the Board. Hon• W. R. Duncan, Tax Assessor, appeared before the Board with the 1941 tax rolls I 542 which were reviewed and considered, but not approved. Attorney Mitchell requested office space in the Court house for a parole` inspector, who would likely be appointed in the near future for this district. The request was granted and the Northwest Grand'Jury Room and adjoining witness room up stairs is the space designated.' RESOLUTION - TRAN372RRING.FUNDS FROM BANNER BILL ACT OF QUAY BRIDGE DISTRICT TO INTEREST AND SIPNG FUND ACCOUNT. Commission Graves introduced the following resolutions and moved its adoption. WHERFAS, The Board of County" Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida, has here- tofore adopted the benefit of the provisions ofthe "Kanner Bill" for the benefit of Quay Bridg District, a taxing unit situated in Indian River County, Florida; and WHEREAS, principal in the amount of $2,000.00 and interest in the amount of $300.00 will be due December 1, 1941, for bonds and interest requirements of said Quay Bridge District and which bonds are dated December 1, 1922, and funds are not available in the interest and .sinking fund account of said district to pay these maturities but that funds are available for ,such purpose in the "Kanner Bill" fund of said district; and said Board desiring that said maturities be paid; therefore, BE IT RESOLVED That the Board of Administration of the State of Florida and Hon. J. Edwin Larson as State Treasurer and ex officio County Treasurer be and it and he is hereby respectfully directed and requested to transfer from the "Kanner Bill" account of said Quay Bridge District to the interest and sinking fund account of said district sufficient funds to meet said principal and interest due December 1, 1941, and to -forward such funds to the proper paying agent in order that said principal and interest may be paid. BE'IT FURTHER RESOLVED That the Clerk to this Board forward duplicate certified cop- ies of this resolution to the State Board of Administration at Tallahassee, Florida. The resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Vickers and upon being put to a vote the same was unanimously adopted. There being no further business._on_-motion made,seconded, and carried the Board then adjourned until 3:00 o'clock P. M., Saturday, November 29, 1941. CHAIFWAN. AT ------------------------------------------------ SATURDAY HOVER 29. 1941 The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Courthouse in Vero Beach, at 3:00 o'clock P. M. Saturday, November 29, 1941, in regular adjourned meeting with the following.members of.the Board present: C..S..Michael, Chairman, W. C..Graves Jr., .Albert 0, Helseth,-Frank C. Vickers and S. E. Glover. Also present were Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney to the Board, Wm. W. Frick, Sheriff, and Douglas Baker, Clerk. The County Assessor of Taxes, W. R. Duncan, appeared before the Board and presented the tax rolls for the year 1941 on Real and. -Personal property and also Intangible Tax Roll, which were carefully examined and found correct.and.on motion made by Albert 0. Helseth, seconded by W. C. Graves Jr., and carried were approved, and the warrants to each of said rolls were annexed thereto and is inwards and figures following:. THE STATE OF FLORIDA. To Troy E.
