The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were examined
and found correct, were approved and warrants issued in settlement of same. Such bills and
accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court. The warrants so issued
from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, as provided by the
rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a
part of these. minutes.
The County depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disbursements
of the various funds, which having been audited was found to be correct.

The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida., met'at the Court
House in Vero Beach at 10:00 o•clock A. M. Tuesday, February 3rd, 1942 in regular meeting°.*ith
the following members of the Board present: C. S. Michael, Chairman, S. E. Glover, Albert 0.
Helseth, Frank C. Vickers and W. C. Graves, Jr. Also present were Wm. W. Frick,, Sheriff, Chas.
A. Mitchell, Attorney for the Board and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
A delegation of citizens from Roseland appeared before the Board and requested cer-
tain roads be improved in and near the Town of Roseland. The Board instructed County Engineer
E. E. Carter to proceed with the work as soon as possible and to such an extent as the finances
would permit.
Verdict of Coroners Jury in the matter of the Inquest on the Body of Robert J.'Duonam
was received and ordered filed.
Miss Leila M. Bunkley, County Nurse, appeared before the Board and made a report of
her activities for the month of January as follows to -wit:

KAMM ACT PURCHASE RESOLUTION

Commissioner Graves introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption:
WHEREAS, The State Board of Administration has submitted certain proposals of in -
dividuals, firms and corporations offering to sell to said Board of Administration certain
bonds of Indian River County, and obligations assumed by said County, under the°provisions
of House Bill No. 30,. Acts of the 1933 Legislature; and
WAEREAS, after carefully considering all of such proposals and taking into eonsider-
ation the amount of funds available for that purpose, and the approximate value of said bonds
and obligations,'it is deemed advisable and expedient to purchase and cancel certain of said
bonds and obligations to -wit:
$60.00 Matured Interest Coupons #9 detached from St. Lucie County Special Road &
Bridge District #1 6% Bonds Nos. 24 and 30, dated January 1, 19189 due July 1, 1932, at a
price of $48.00, as designated offering "A".
$1,600.00 St. Lucie County Road & Bridge District #1 6% Bond #68, dated January 1,
19189 Past due coupons attached (7-1-32 ASCA' due July 1, 19439 at a price of $1,472.00, as
designated offering "B".
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners that the State Boatd
of Administration be requested to purchase and cancel the securities listed above at the price
quoted.
The resolution was duly seconded by Commissioner Vickers and upon being put to a
vote the same was unanimously adopted.
Mr. W. E. Sexton and Mr. C. B. Johnson representing property owners on road fronting
their homes appeared before the Board and requested certain roads be oiled. The board agreed
to apply the oil or road material provided the property owners will pay for cost of material.
Mr.. J.. F. Castano representing Hon. Harry H. Hector, member of the State Road Depart.
went, appeared before the' Board and Stated that due to the present emergency that it, might not
be possible for the State Road Department to do all that they wished to do with respect to
roads in this area and throughout the State. It was ordered the Clerk write a letter to Mr.
Hector expressing their appreciation for the splendid cooperation received from his office in
all matters dealing with the affairs of this County and for his extremely able -services as a
representative of this congressional district upon the State Road Department.
Douglas Baker, Clerk, was instructed to write Hon. J. Edwin Larson relative to
coupons outstanding from Indian River County Special Road and Bridge District#4 'refunding
bonds dated January 1, 1937.
Hon. Oscar DuBose appeared before the Board and requested a donation in the sum of
$300.00 for the Vero Beach Band Association- On motion made by W. C. Graves Jr., seconded by
S. E. Glover and carried the request was granted and a warrant ordered -drawn on the General
Revenue Fund, for the amount and purpose as heretofore stated.
On motion by W. C. Graves Jr., seconded by Frank C. Vickers and unanimously carried
the sum of $300.00 was ordered paid to the Vero Beach Chamber of Commerce for the year 1942
said amount to be paid from the General Revenue Fund.
The Board authorized the purchase of a seal for Hon. George T. Tippin, SuperYlsor
of Registration.
Hon. W. R. Duncan appeared before the Board with regard to advertising in the Nero
Beach Press Journal regarding the filing.; of homestead exemption returns. On motion made by
Jr.
W. C. Graves seconded by Albert 0. Helseth and carried the Board approved the sum of $11.20
for said advertising.

On motion made by W. C. Graves Jr., seconded by S. E. Glover and unanimously carried
the salary of T. F. Palmer was ordered increased from $75.00 to $85.00 per month.
The Board approved and reported on the following list of confederate Pensioners now
receiving a pension from Indian River County. The Board instructed the Clerk to advise the
Pension Department Mrs. Ida R. Badger is now residing in Jacksonville, Florida.

Notary Public Bond for R. B. Gramling in the sum of $500.00 with American Surety
Company of New York as sureties was approved.
On motion made by W. C. Graves, seconded by S. 'E. Glover and carried the Board ap-
proved the sum of $50.00 for the purpose of purchasing First aid supplies and ordered a war-
rant drawn on the General Revenue Fund payable to the order of Dr. E. B. Hardee for said
supplies.
