Such bills and accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Warrants so issued ii from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, as provided by the rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a part of these minutes. The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disbursements of the various funds, which having been audited were found to be correct. M. Tuesday, February 1, 19449 in regular meeting with the following members of the Board present: W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman: S. E. Glover, Frank C. Vickers, Albert 0. Helseth and G. E. Barkoskie. Also present were Vm. W. Frick, Sheriff, ,;Charles A. Mitchell, Attorney for the Board, and Douglas Baker, Clerk. I Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. i; Douglas Baker, Clerk, reported $1,000.00 received from the United States Navy for 11 damage to county barn by an aeroplane on October 23, 1943, and the same was deposited in the I, Road and Bridge Fund. f It was moved by Frank C. Vickers, seconded by Albert 0. Helseth and unanimously carried, that the Vero Beach Press Journal, a newspaper of general circulation, published in Indian River County, Florida, and which newspaper has' -been continuously published in said County for a period of more than one year prior to this date, be and it is hereby selected and designated by the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County as the newspaper in whichi shall be published the list of lands to be advertised and sold by the Tax Collector of Indian River County and which selection is required under the provisions of Section 969 Compiled General Laws of Florida; and that said newspaper be designated for the publication of such other: a legal notices as may be required to be designated by said Board of County Commissioners. J Notary Public Bond for Virginia Nye in the sum of $500.00 with American Surety Compaq.* of New York as surety, was approved. Sheriff Frick paid to the county the sum of $632.37 representing Excess Fees from his'' Ii office for the calendar year 1943 and the same deposited in the County Officer's Excess Fee -Fund. !I At the request of Mr..E..G. Thatcher, the Board agreed to permit the city to borrow !i the county vacuum cleaner for use in the Community Building for the purpose of cleaning rugs, u� etc. h! The Board authorized payment of $300.00 to the Chamber of Commerce from the General Ip Revenue Fund for advertisement and publicity purposes in behalf of Indian River County,and also I an emergency contribution because of the war situation in the sum of $200.00, aggregating $500. As provided by law, the Tension Department furnished this Board with a list of Pensioners, namely, Mrs. Annie Ruffner and Etta G. Tyner of Wabasso, who are now receiving I,I p ij Confederate Pensions from the State, which having been checked over by the Board, was found i to be correct. 0 1 1 `n u 1 0 1 u E i 1 • 1 0 L' 1 • 83 Application of Harry Bohannon (Hardee's Bar, Sebastian, Florida) for a license to sell intoxicating liquor, wines and beers, was received and after carefully considering the same, on motion made, seconded and carried, the same was approved. !� On motion made by Commissioner Vickers, seconded by Commissioner Barkoskie and unanimously carried, it was ordered the Board purchase United States Government Securities wi surplus county funds as follows: General Revenue $10,000.00; Fine and Forfeiture $2,000.00; Road and Bridge $5,000.00; Mother's Pension $2,000.00; Special Road and Bridge District #1 0500.00; Special Road and Bridge District #4 $500.00; Vero Bridge $1,000.00; Quay Bridge $2,000.00; and Outstanding Indebtedness Fund $5,000.00. That the same be purchased through the First Federal Savings and Loan Association and that credit be given the School Ai -Y Club for $10,000.00, the School Beta Club $10,000.00 and the American Legion $8,000.00. It was ordered the sum of 0500.00 be paid from the funds of the Quay Bridge District i d� ,;including that of the Vero Bridge District to the Indian River Fire Protective Association for maintenance and operation, including labor, gas and oil, of the growers fire truck for fire ,,protection of public bridges and culverts in the Vero and quay Bridge Districts.
