!j The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court House in i
Vero Beach, at 10:00`o'clock A. M. Tuesday, April 49 1944, in regular meeting with the follow-
ing members of the Board present: W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman: S E. Glover, Frank C. Vickers,
�I Albert 0. Helseth and G. E. Barkoskie. Also present were Nim. W. Frick, Sheriff, Charles A. fi
Mitchell, Attorney for the Board, E. E. Carter, County Engineer, and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
Notary Public Bond in the sum of $500.00 for J. R. Jamison with Massachusetts Bondingli,
i4 and Insurance Company of Boston, Massachusetts, was approved March 15, 1944,,.by Douglas Baker,
II Clerk Circuit Court.
It was ordw .Cl.ara Williams and W. H. Williams be removed from the Paupers list.

rA petition signed by Dan H. McCullers and thirty or forty citizens of Winter Beach,
'1 was presented -to the Board requesting that the Florida East Coast Railway Company be advised
i{ jl
" of the serious condition of the railroad crossing north of the express shed in Winter Beach I"
i and requested the Railroad Company to repair said crossing. The Board agreed this should be
i
done and Douglas Baker, Clerk, was instructed to write the railroad officials in St.Augustino
regarding same.
It was ordered a warrant be drawn on,the General Revenue Fund in the sum of $300.00
payable to the City of Vero Beach for the city's interest in lot 28, Block 35, Original Town.
Miss Leila M. Bunkley, County Nurse, appeared before the Board and made a report of
r her activities for the month of March as follows to -wit:

Miss Bunkley also reviewed the Rimes boys case and the Board agreed to expend the
jl sum not to::exceed $50.00 toward his expense. The Joe Simmons case was also reviewed and the
Board agreed to expend the sum of approximately 4200.00 provided one-half of this amount be
raised, the remainder to be paid on future installments.
The Board instructed Douglas Baker, Clerk, to request insurance bids from the
several agents in the county for Public Liability and Property Damage Insurance.limits of
Liability to be 10,000.80 ax d': 20"000.00 and Property Damage $5,000.00 on county trucks and
automobiles. Said bids to be received May 2nd.

It was ordered the Workman's Compensation Insurance be renewed with the Rick -Buster
Insurance Agency. •
Upon application by Ethyl Holloway, District Home Demonstration Agent, the Board

agreed to furnish an office or desk space and t6 --expend the sum not to exceed $25.00 for a F�
County Some Demonstration Agent. Said agreement to be effective until October 1, 1944,. subject

to renewal at that time.

Earman, was received and Ordered placed in the court room. „o
RESOLUTION - "RIOMAR CORPORATION"
The following resolution was introduced by Commissioner S. E. Glover who moved its
adoption to -wit:
WHEREAS Indian River County, Florida, a political sub -division organized and exist- r
ing under the laws of the State of Florida, by enactment of the legislature of the State of
j Florida whereby said Indian River County was created is the owner of all real property or
interest there in now situated within the boundaries of Indian River County, Florida, and
r
formerly owned or held by St. Lucie County, Florida; and j
WHEREAS, Indian River County, Florida, is the owner or the owner of an interest in
and to property situated in Indian River County, Florida, described as follows, to wit:
Lot 20 in Block 1 of Riomar Subdivision according to the plat thereof filed in the i+
office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court of Indian River County, Florida, in plat Book 2 at 11

Page 27, said property being otherwise described as sublot No.20 of Eastview Company's Sub-
division No. 1, according to plat thereof filed in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit
Court of St. Lucie County, Florida in Plat Book 4 at Page 1.

and said property having been heretofore held for public road purposes and a portion thereof

having not at any time been used..for such purposes and that portion thereof which was so used
� having been vacated as such by resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of St. Lucie
County, Florida, duly adopted on June 17, 1924, and while the above described property was
aj situated in St. Lucie County, Florida; and, w

j WHEREAS, the Riomar Corporation, a Corporation organized and existing under the
of the State of Florida, is the owner of the reversionary title in and to said above-described
property and said Riomar Corporation has heretofore provided right-of-way for public roads and'`

way is located west of the above-described property and is now used for public road and street'

purposes as shown upon the Flat of Riomar Sub -division recorded in Plat Book 2 at Page 27,
records of Indian River County, Florida; and
WHEREAS, conveyance of the above-described lot has not yet been made by Indian River``

County to the Riomar Corporation and it is the obligation of Indian River County to make con-
veyance thereof to said Riomar Corporation in consideration of the Riomar Corporation provid-
ing the existing right-of-way for public streets and roads in the area mentioned and which has;;

The motion for the adoption of said resolution was seconded by Commissioner Vickers

It was further ordered that the Clerk prepare the ballots for the several precincts
and prepare the ballot boxes with all laws, ballots, tally books, affidavits and other blanks
necessary for the proper conduct of the Primary Election to be held, Tuesday, May 2nd, 1944,
and.deliver said ballot boxes so prepared, to the Sheriff for distribution to the various
precincts the county.
The several bills and accounts against the County, having been audited, were
and found correct, were approved and warrants issued is settlement of same. Such bills and
accounts being on file in the office of the Clerk of the Circuit Court, the Warrants so issued
from the respective funds being listed in the Supplemental Minute Book, as provided by the
rules of the State Auditor, reference to such record and the list so recorded being made a
part of these minutes.
The County Depository filed its monthly statement, showing receipts and disburse -
meats of the various funds, which having been audited were .found to be correct.
There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried, the Board
then adjourned. na
