Fr 106 THURSDAY JULY 60 1944 The Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County met at the Court Hoose in Vero �IBeach, at 10:00 o" clock A. M. Thursday July 5, 1944, in regular adjourned meeting With the fob.- �lowing members of the Board present: W. C..Graves,.Jr. Chairman: Albert 0._Halseth, G. E. Bar- . h koskie, Frank C. Vickers and S. Z. Glover. Also present were "gym. W. -Frick, Sheriff, Charles A. �j Mitchell, Attorney for the .Board, Douglas Baker,.Clerk.and-Z. F. Carter, County Engineer. r q; Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved. On Motion made by Frank C. Vickers, seconded by Albert 0. Helseth and unanimously carriedM it was ordered that the salary of -S, E.,Carter.,County Engineer,, Charles A. Mi.tahell Attorney °for the Board and Douglas Baker, Clerk, be increased x;25.00 per month, effective April 12 1944. It was ordered that Lula }Seal, Sebastian, be paid the sum of $10.00 per month in lieu of "l, 45.50 until the further order of the Board. Mr. 'barren T. Zeuoh appeared before the Board in.behalf of the -Child Welfare Program of "!lndian River County and requested an additional $25.00 per month for this program. The Board advised that consideration would be given regarding the request and, if possible, would be in- rcluded in the Budget for 1944 m 1.9450 beginning October lat. next. Douglas Baker, Clerk, was instructed to write Doctor 'Hansen of the Florida State Board of !Health requesting one of his Doctors to meet with this. Board to_discuss the Child Health Program! of Indian River County.- Further that a representative _from the City of Vero Beech and Board of !I Publio Instruction also be present at said ;meeting. W. 1acocks was it p , g � A P F ordered to remain as assessed by the County Assessor of taxes on the 1944 tax roll. The Board, both as the Board of County Commissioners and as the County Board of Bquali- �zation, upon motion duly made, seconded and unanimously adopted, adjourned, to meet at 10:00 otclock A. The tag books being ready to be returned to the Tax Assessor for the purpose of extend - FJ ing the `taxes thereon as providdd by the law the Hoard of County Commissioners took up the mat- ter of making an estimate of the necessary expenses for the fiscal year From October 1st, 1944 to the 30th day of September, 1945, and having considered the receipts estimated by the Clerk +land the Tax.
