The Board of County Commissioners of Indian. River County met at the Court House in
ero Beach, at 10:00 otolook, A. M. Tuesday, September 5, 19449 in regular meeting with the fol -
owing members of the Board present: W. C. Graves, Jr., Chairman; Frank C. Vickers,Albert 0. E'!

elseth, S. E. Glover and G. E. Barkoskie. Also present.were Wm. W. Frick. -Sheriff; Charles A.
itohell, Attorney for the Board, E. E. Carter, County Engineer, and Douglas Baker, Clerk.
Minutes of the previous meeting were read and approved.
The Board ordered a Letter File be purchased for the use of the County Nurse at the dj
D. Clinic Building.

Mr. ,pippin was the first Tax assessor of this county and at the time of his death was
the County Supervisor of Registration. In addition he was a director for the county of all a
-cultural exhibits and Fairs of the county and through his efforts great honor was brought to
the county. He rendered all of his public service with marked ability and with great benefit
to the county and its citizens. He gave unsparingly of his time and ability in the promotion
of all worthwhile aetivities',in the county and contributed materially to the progress and devel-
opment of the entire area of which Indian River County is a part; therefore,
BE IT;RE8OLV3D that.the Board of County Commissioners of Indian River County, Florida,
does herewith express deep regret upon.,the 'passing of Mr. Tippin and extends sincere sympathy
to the members of his family.
BE IT FUR'.i'HER RESOLVED that this resolution be spread upon the Minutes of this Board;
that the Clerk of this Board forward a copy of it to the members of Mr. Tippin's family; and
that a copy hereof be delivered to the Vero Beach Press Journal.
Douglas Baker, Clerk, reported the sum of $460.50 as having been collected and deposit-
�Ied in the General Revenue Fund, said amount representing Court Costs in connection with the
,' purchase or redemption of lands included in the County foreclosure suit. He also reported the

sum of $42.24 as having been received and deposited in the General Revenue Fund from the Fells -'!I

fixed and assessed for the year 1944, on all of the property in the County of Indian River lying
and being within the boundaries of Special Tag School District No. 11, the boundaries of which
said District being described above in these minutes. One and three-fourths (1 3/4) mills to be
used for the paying of interest and providing a sinkine fund for refunding bonds of'said Dis-
trict dated the first day of December, 1936, and one and one-fourth (1 1/4) mills for the pur-
pose of paying interest upon, ajmd providing a sinking and for bonds of said district dated
December 1, 1940.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Tax ,Assessor of
