HomeMy WebLinkAbout10/5/1926TUEMAY, OCTOBER 5th 1926 The Board of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court House in Vero Beach, on Tuesday, October 5th, 1926 at 10 o'clock A.M. with the following members of the Board. present: John H. Atkin, Chairman, G.A.Brad- dock, J.W'.iaBruce, Donald Forbes and 0. 0. Helseth. Also present was W.B.Davis,Deputy Sheriff and Miles Warren, Clerk. The minutes of the previous meetings of this Board were read and approved. It was ordered that the Clerk and Chairman of this Board be authorized to draw warrant against the Road and Bridge Fund for any amount found due in the condemnation shit now pending in the Circuit Court for right-of-way for State Road No. 4. The Notary Public bond of D.Y.Laytonri Jr., in the sum of $500.00 with the .American Surety Company, a corporation, of New York as surety was approved. The following named. persons were selected to serve as Inspectors and Clerk of the General Election of November 2nd 1926 in the several precincts of the County: Precinct No.1 Roseland. W.V .Holtzclaw; T.A.Garring; and N.D.Hammon, Inspectors. L. Ashburner, Clerk. Precinct No.2 Sebastian. A.5chulman, P.Kroegel and Geo F.Vickers, Inspectors. M.M.Braddock, Clerk. Precinct No.3 Wabasso. T.J.Cail-; Geo. Sears and T.H.Sibley, Inspectors. VT.M.1eisher, Clerk. Precinct No. 4 Minter Beach. C.E.Mathis; J.M.McCullers Sr.;G.A.MeJunkin, Inspectors. T.H.Sheffield, Clerk. Precinct No. 5 (North Vero Beach) Nellie M.Babb; Walter T.James; and Mrs R.M.Huntley,Inspectors. C.C.Gow, Clerk. Precinct No.6 (South Vero Beach) Mrs.G.C.Bartlett; Clark 'S .Rice; and. L.A.Moeller, Inspectors. T.E.Jun, Clerk. Precinct No.? Oslo. A.E.Sueverkruebbe; Chas.Eddy and Oswald. Helseth, Inspectors. Albert 0.Eelseth,Clerk. Precinct No.8 Fellsmere. M.A.Carrier; W.A.Weatherup and J.J.Bustin, Inspectors; F.W.Dole, Clerk. It was ordered that the County Engineer make report on peninsular road North of Winter Beach as to putting same in passable condition. It was ordered the Clerk write Mr.C.C.Braswell, to remove the Arch in the road- way at Winter Beach. Such action being taken in view he has not complied with agree- ment with this Board with respect to building the road from the Highway to the quay Bridge. It wme ordered that John W.Gribble be placed on the relief list to receive $25.00 per month for three months in lieu of Roy Gribble, deceased. The County Engineer was instructed to advertise for bids for One half yard. truck mounted. Crane to be purchased out of General R & B Funds of the County. The Chairman and Clerk of this Board are authorized and empowered to execute con - on behalf of tract mciztk Indian River County with the Florida Road Oiling Company for oiling roads of Special Road & Bridge District No. 4. The following checks for work done for private parties were received; A.M.•Hil1 $115.60 W.P.Bailey 34.00 Fellsmere Estates Corpn 454.53. Chas. Harris 22.60 $626.?3 which was ordered placed in the Road & Bridge Fund of the County. The several bilis against the County, having been audited, were examined and found correct and warrants ordered issued in settlement of same. 4'"uch bills and accounts being on file in the Clerk's office and made a part of these minutes. The several County Depositories filed their monthly statements, showing balance 'I on hand, receipts and warrants paid with balance on hand at the close of the previous month, which was found. correct. There being no further business, on motion made, seconded and carried it was ordered the Board adjourn until Irednesday, October 20th 1926 for the transaction of any business that may come before it. The Boare of County Commissioners in and for Indian River County, Florida, met at the Court house in Vero Beach at 2 o'clock Uednesday, October 20th, 1926, pursuant to adjournment of October lith 1926 with the following members of the Boa.ni present: John H Atkin, Chairman; G.A.Braddock; J.W.LaBruce; Donald. Forbes and 0.0.Helseth. The Notary Public bond of E.W.Vickers, in the sum of 4ii500.00 with the American :surety Company, a corporation, of New York as surety was approved.. In compliance with Section 256 of the Revised Statutes the following petition was considered and the names ordered printed on the General Election ballot to -wit: - For ,Commissioners Mosquito Control District V/.
